Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Thread)

Radiant Garden

Keyblade Academy

Indy made his way through the academy halls, glancing around at the rooms he passed by. I was told to meet with a teacher in the Gummi hangar... They said that there would be other students, too. What's so urgent that they'd call a few of us there? Is there something going on in other worlds...? Maybe they even have a mission for us... I've always wanted the opportunity to leave Radiant Garden, anyway... He thought to himself as he moved along, pondering what it is that he was ordered to meet there for.

He eventually reached the room, noticing that it was empty. "Hm... Well, I did try to get here early, anyway." He muttered, leaning against a wall. He appeared calm, but his mind was racing. Will I get to visit other worlds? Who else will I be with? Will I have a chance to see Allitt again...? He drifted into deep thought, not taking notice of his surroundings...

(And yes, the other students all received the orders, too.)

Shut up, Flash!

Toshi

"Oh, thank you, Indy and Joel!" Toshi said, folding her hands in relief and smiling a little. "We should follow the path that he took," Toshi said, pointing down below at the tracks on the ground, as well as the little sparks that floated near. "Let's go." She then made her way down, Indy and Joel hopefully in tow.

Raidyn

"Whoa..." Raidyn said over and over as he got closer to the front of the palace, admiring the structure around him as if he was walking through a toy store. He finally got to the front and made his way into the palace. "I figured there would be other people here, but oh well," Raidyn said to himself as he walked through the hall leading to The Emperor's throne room.

Lucas jogged towards Indy and the others. "Hey wait up! I don't want to miss seeing the Dragon!"

As soon as Raidyn was off, Zale was sprinting after him. Raidyn was faster, but Zale still made good speed. As he got closer to the village, the dark twin changed his tactics.

[Nexus Shift]

Using momentum Zale had generated, Annistha launched herself into the trees, swinging from them with monkey like aptitude. She increased the twins speed, finally launching them out of the trees and on to the roofs of the village.

[Nexus Shift]

With roof tiles under him, Zale speed off. The twins swapped control as they ran and jumped over the rooftops of the village.

[Nexus Shift]

Finally, Annistha flipped down beside Raidyn.

"Okay." She breathed. "You win."

Master Sora

Sora peeked out the window, trying to spot what Xamtweth was looking at. "Where...? Oh, I see!" He grinned. "They found her! Perfect!" He got up, and ran to his office's door. "Oh, uh. you should come with me, Xamtweth." He said, and left the office.

Master Riku

"Hm... I see. Thank you for your work, Instructor Striker." Riku nodded. "I can take her from here. You should get back to the students." He suggested. He walked over towards Allitt, and gave her an emotionless stare. "Come with me. If you resist, I will not hesitate to fight back." He began to lead the girl away, but turned back to Striker. "Good luck with the mission." He began to head back to the academy.

Indy

Even bunny girl's mad about this? Man, I screwed up. Indy sighed, then noticed Joel. "I've heard there's a dragon who helped out Master Sora back on his very first quest, actually. A real life, fire-breathing dragon." He slightly smiled, seemingly curious. "I wonder what it looks like? It's probably huge, if it helped Sora out as much as it did."

[Radiant Garden keyblade Academy]

Instructor Striker gave Master Riku a formal salute usually reserved between Guardians as he took Allitt away. Sorry dear, but I can't get too emotionally attached. Besides, duty calls. He did an immediate about-face, and started his way back into the Overwatch. Now back in the cockpit, the instructor started the quick start up procedures as he glanced out of the windows. He saw a new face talking with master Sora, but since he wasn't waving at him, decided to shrug it off as the ship started to take off. Exiting the hanger, once the Overwatch was out to a safe distance, Striker decided to have a little fun and activated a fun little feature aboard the ship by tapping on the LCD Engine display in front of him. "This ship needs a Meteor test anyways..." Striker calmly remarked as he tapped the screen again to confirm his selection. Several klaxon alarms beeped loudly within the cockpit as the cool blue glow of the screens around him turned a bloody red  with the words "METEOR" flashing a bright yellow at the top of every display.

The engines high-pitched whine quickly turned into a bone-shaking roar as the instructor braced for the maneuver, taking several quick breaths before holding it tight for dear life. Just as the instructor made a faint hic sound, the engines immediately went dead silent. he felt the unmistakable weightlessness as the ship sank just a couple of feet, the nose quickly pitching down to it's final destination as it pointed at a distant star. The next instant, a loud explosion rocked the ship as the engines screamed back into life with an immense power, sucking in the atmospheric air to give it the mind boggling speeds that was promised to its pilot. What was supposed to be half-hour long journey to the Land of Dragons took only 7 seconds. Seven long... grueling seconds of high-stress torture as the ship screamed through the lanes between, the stars streaking past the window like raindrops on a moving vehicle. Striker was fighting tooth and nail to remain conscious at the helm. Thankfully, the alarms helped, and just as he was about to run out of breath, the tiny star that was supposed to be the Land of Dragons ahead of him quickly exploded into view. As the ship violently reversed it's thrust, Striker was thankful for securing his 5-point seat belt as the straps dug into his armor and exposed neck. He growled at the pain and at the sudden change in momentum, and when the ship finally leveled out, he gasped for a breath of relief. "Hooo boy!" the bubbly heartless celebrated, "I haven't done that in years!" Eyeing the world below him, the instructor started his landing...

Meanwhile, at the Land of Dragons....

Ghost was busy grumbling to himself as he assessed the damage on the ship and concluded that the damage was mostly aesthetic. Miraculously, the landing system was undamaged, save for an overstressed component that was an easy fix for the Sentinel-in-Training. After smacking the component with a monkey wrench a few times, Ghost concluded that the repairs were finished. He promptly returned the toolkit and spare gummi blocks onto Brooklyn's ship, then ran to catch up with the others.

Raidyn

"Whoa, I didn't expect you to come here, Zale! Or wait... are you Zale or Annistha?" Raidyn asked awkwardly. "I really can't tell you two apart. I'll just call you Nexus for now," He added. "Anyways, this is the door that leads to the Emperor's throne room." Raidyn informed Annistha, pointing in front of them. "The Emperor is the world leader of the Land Of Dragons. I'm gonna ask him where Mulan is!" Raidyn said. "But you know what, I didn't think this place would be as empty as it is... hmm..." Raidyn examined the halls as well as the outside; literally nothing was keeping him or Annistha/Zale for that matter from going on their way. "Oh well. Let's head in," Raidyn said, walking towards the door.

(I don't think "big" is the right word to use when saying anything about Mushu. :P)

(Dangit you got me there.)

As they made their way toward the city, Joel turned to see some of the others still near the Gummi ship, and Ghost trying to catch up.

He turned back and shouted, "Hey guys, come on! Adventure is out over there!" He continued along the trail that Raidyn had graciously left for them.

Annistha smirked.

"Just go with 'Nexus' if you are having trouble with remembering who's who with us." She told Raidyn. "Even some of the teachers stick with that."

She followed Raidyn through the doors to the Imperial Palace.

"I've read about this place. I think we've even been here before, but that part of mine and Zale's life is still a bit fuzzy."

[Nexus Shift]

Mid-step, Annistha's small frame and red dreadlocks were replaced with Zale's bulkier form with his darker red spiked hair and long pony tail. He sniffed the air.

"Why is there always ominous signs when wielders go places?" He asked the world in general, also noting a lack of people.

Not that he minded. A mystery usually led to enemies.

Raidyn

Raidyn opened the doors and inside was a glorious display of red and yellow clothes, as well as expensive looking furniture, and also, the throne. And on that throne sat The Emperor himself.

"Whoa! Nexus, look who it is!" Raidyn exclaimined, pointing at The Emperor as if he was some kind of special attraction. "Yo, Emperor!" He then ran over to the Emperor, right in front of his face after climbing the stairs that led to his throne.

"Excuse me, Emperor, but do you know where Mulan is?"

(You know, I don't really know if its okay for me to bring in the Emperor and talk for him... Flash, I might want to leave this to you.)

Indy

Indy stayed back with Toshi and Joel, trying to not get separated from them. "Wow, this city's huge..." He muttered, amazed by the scale of the place. "I bet that by now, Raidyn's already at the palace... Would it kill the guy to slow down for once?" He sighed, continuing along the trail.

The Emperor

The emperor gave Raidyn a curious look. "Who might you be...?" He leaned in, trying to see if he recognized the young Keyblade wielder from somewhere.

Master Sora

"You really want to go alone?" The Keyblade Master sighed, not quite understanding why anyone would want to go on a long voyage alone. Well, this is Neku's kid... "Alright, fine. You can head off on your own. The others are at the Land of Dragons now, from what I understand. You should hurry so you don't miss them! Good luck!" Sora began to head back to his office.

The Land of Dragons. If I remember correctly, Sora went there and was able to bring harmony among the Empire of China. Sora said his goodbyes and headed back to the Academy. I decided to pick up a few things and head on back to the house.

I stopped at the general store. The shopkeeper noticed me. "Welcome! How can I help you?" I looked around without making eye contact. "Just some items needed to travel to a world. Got an assignment. Can you get me a deal?"

"suuuuure! Let's see what I got here." He went to the back and picked up some items. I went ahead to the desk and got my munny out. "anything under 500 Munny sir!"

"No Problem!" He came out with a box of items. "This box here contains some essentials for beginner Keyblade Wielders traveling around the universe. You get 5 potions and Ethers. It also has an Aquamarine Ring, and just for you, I will throw in a Cosmic Chain!"

I looked inside the box. The items he listed are in the box. "And that's for 500 Munny?"

"Since it's the first time you purchased in my store, I'm considerable and decided to throw something in for your first journey. Don't expect this kind of favor later on though."

I took the box and left the money on the counter. "Thanks a lot man!" He waved back, "No problem. Come Back anytime. Maybe I find something good for ya!"

I proceeded out of the store and headed back to the house.

I entered my house and found Mom grading the papers. She heard me walk by and looked at me. "Hey Xam, I heard from Sora that you are heading out to the Land of Dragons. I think you might find it interesting."

"You don't say? I hear there's dragons over there."

"You could say that." She giggled. "You should go pack up, and your Dad wants to talk with you."

"All right." I went upstairs to my room. I grabbed my black backpack and filled it with some clothes, essentials, potions and ethers I bought from the store. I took my Aquamarine Ring and placed in my ring finger on the right hand. I looked at the Cosmic Chain. If I remembered correctly, the chain is said to be hard to find, but gives great resistance to elemental attacks. This is very helpful. I clipped it on my pants and looked around the room. I have to admit. It is pretty messy. But at least I have a good excuse to leave without cleaning my room.

I heard a knock on my door. "yeah?" My Dad opened the door. "Hey Xam. I heard from Sora about your mission."

Zale stalked after Raidyn into the imperial throne room, always watching the shadows and corners. He rathered wished Annistha would take the lead on this, but it would take too much time to explain things to the Emperor.

"Zale, your excellency." The dark twin answered.

He maintained a distance from the Emperor, maintaining vigilance.

Raidyn

"Mr. Emperor, it's nice to meet ya!" Raidyn said, taking one of the lord's hands and shaking it furiously with both of his. "I got something to ask you: do you know where Mulan is right now? We know her because of her friend Sora: he's our teacher!" Raidyn explained.

Toshi

"I-I'm sorry," Toshi replied to Indy. "I know he can be a handful sometimes, but he does mean well. H-he's just excited is all," Toshi added, trying to defend Raidyn's recklessness.

"Well, likely they have a lot more in terms of items than they use to- with the world's bilingual so open now, and traversing them being so easy, it's probable that they have a lot of goods and..." Brooklyn began to sort of just babble bout cultural and lifestyle changes that might have taken place within that time period, but when he noticed his rambling, he stopped himself. "...sorry, I don't know why, but I have a habit of looking way too deep into things."

(Taking over for Yuffie)Ember's head kinda span as Brooklyn rambled about what might have changed, but she snapped out of it as soon as he said sorry about rambling on. "It's fine, I didn't know you knew so much!" Brooklyn only sighed as they walked the market place. "I know a whole lot, some of it I never even remember learning..." Ember cocked her head to the side slightly. "Really? I wonder why!" Brooklyn just looked at the stand of jewelery, noticing a sparkling bracelet with beautiful jem's in it, and something in him sorta, well, clicked. "W-What...? M-my head..." Brooklyn colapsed onto the ground, passing out in the middle of all the shops as onlookers and Ember stared at him.Inside Brooklyn's head, he felt memories flow through him. Memories of an orphanage, a girl named Snow with blue-white hair, flash forward, a fight with a man in a purple and black trench coat and hood, a girl with purple hair and eyes to match named Mes, a bracelet slipped onto her wrist, then more. A pirate ship of some kind in gummi space, a strike to his back, hurting him immensely, a tornado of darkness, then a large bang, like the crack of a whip, and he woke up. "Mes! Snow!" He yelled as he awoke in the middle of the shops. "Brooklyn...?" Ember looked at him worried. "Are you... OK?" She questioned, lowering her hand to help him up. He pushed her hand away and stood up, dusting himself off. "I'm... fine.." He muttered, taking a deep breath.

[Land of Dragons]

The posse of students were some distance away as Ghost continued running to catch up. By the time he did, the sorry Sentinel was out of breath, and too tired to really reply back to Joel. He noticed a trail in the snow that everyone else seemed to be following, and decided to do the same while catching his breath. For crying out loud... I blame the altitude for this...

Meanwhile... High above orbit...

Instructor Striker was still recovering from the adrenaline high of screaming through the Lanes-between in seven seconds; His hands were still shaking, he still had an unusually twisted grin on his face, and his hair was a bit more frizzled than it was seven seconds ago as the unusually bubbly heartless giggled to himself. "I wonder how long Ghost would last?" he asked himself before shaking off the thought. He shifted his attention to the world next to the ship and decided to start the landing procedures as he plotted a course for the Emperor's Palace.

(As of now, I changed Xamtweth's name to Gaku Sakuraba, info about the name change is on sign ups. Also I'm testing out third person. If this works well for me, I will maintain this for the rest of the Roleplay)

Neku walks into Gaku's bedroom and sits on the swivel chair. "At least you took up his offer. Guess the schoolwork changed your mind." He chuckles. Gaku looked at his dad with annoyance. "Yeah, yeah. What am I supposed to do about that? I already dug a deep hole, so I'm trying to climb out of it." Neku knows the darkness harboring his son. A lone star who prefers to go solo on everything. He needs to open up more. He's becoming more like me when I was a teenager. "Gaku."

"yeah?" He said

"A wise man told me, 'The world ends with you. You gotta expand your world, and push them as far as they go.' I learned his words the hard way, but I stood by them today. You should take those words to heart."

Gaku looked at Neku with interest. A small glimmer of light appeared in his heart internally, but was not bright enough to change his ideals. "But It's hard to trust people. I don't want to waste myself on anyone, and trying to put my trust in someone would take so much of me." Gaku stated. Neku knows his ideals are slowly diminishing. "Well, you never know, unless you try. I don't want you to learn it the hard way. There will be a point where it's you and your comrades. Trust your Comrades, and they will help you hurdle over the challenges you face.

Gaku sighed. Trust my comrades? How the hell am I supposed to do that? "Whatevs dad. I'm gonna be leaving as soon as I get packed."

Neku gets up from the chair and walks to the door when he remembered something. "Damn. I almost forgot why I came to see you." Neku dug into his pockets and took out a black pin with a white reaper skull implanted on it. "Oi Gaku. Here!" Neku tossed the pin towards Gaku who caught the pin on time. Shocked about Neku giving up his pin, he spoke to him "Dad! Don't you need this?" Neku dug in his pockets and pulled out another one of the pins. "Don't worry, I got another one. I had a friend of mine give me an extra for in case you go out on your journey one of these days. You could say it's a gift. You understand how it's used right?" Gaku looked at the pin, and nodded. "Good. Use it for scanning for bad activities, communicating with others in silence, and making yourself more powerful. Just be sure to make a pact though." Gaku sighed. Ugh, what am I supposed to do about this?  Neku left the doorway, but continued talking "By the way, your Mom wants you to clean up the room before you leave." Gaku got pissed off and yelled in rage "DAMMIT ALL!" Neku continued down the stairs laughing.

Rei whined.

"It's too cold!"

She was on Ghost's back again...because, well, it's what she did. And so she rode piggyback.

Zion, meanwhile, did something completely Zion. Because what happened can only be described as a Zion. or maybe a Ron Stoppable. Or whoever teleports and lands on heads.

Which is exactly what Zion did, after leaving Xion. Who's head did she land on?

After a cosmic flip of a dime that landed on heads, Zion landed right on Raidyn's head, knocking them both to the ground. Rolling off of her sadly flattened students, she hopped up, brushing herself with her hands.

"Stupid cosmic forces never letting me teleport correctly..." She grumbled, before bowing to the Emporer. "Hello again, your majesty. Sorry for my entrance." She raised her bow a bit. "And sorry I rudely interrupted you two." With a telekinetic yank, she got Raidyn on his feet.

"Sorry about that kid."

(And I am being dead serious, about flipping a dime. Sorry Firaga. The dime hit heads...if it had hit tails...Indy woulda had a headache)

Zale couldn't help but chuckle at Zion's entrance. He had overheard a few stories about her aim when teleporting over people.

"Very graceful, master Zion." The Dark Twin teased, as he kept watching for signs of a trap or attack.

(I'm not gonna lie, that made me chuckle. lol)

Raidyn

"Agggh...." Raidyn whined, rubbing his head. "Mrs. Zion, I'd give you points for style but I think you need to work on your landing... and also not to land on other people while doing so." Raidyn then brushed himself off and shook off his head pain, returning to his exuberant self.

"But anyways, check it out Mrs. Zion! We're meeting the Emperor in the Land Of Dragons!" Raidyn pointed out, even though what he was talking about was beyond obvious. It seems he was too excited to care. "And he was just about to tell me where Mulan is. Isn't that right, Mr. Emperor?" Raidyn said, looking back at the elder on the throne.

After what seemed like hours of cleaning his bedroom which actually took an hour and thirty minutes, Gaku finally finished cleaning his bedroom. The clothes have been put away, instruments are placed in proper order, and the bed has been made. Gaku double checked his backpack to make sure everything is in place. He grabbed his headphones and put it around his neck, and slung his backpack around. He took his new gift, the Player Pin and placed it in his pocket. Hopefully this thing would be helpful, he thought. He began to run down the stairs and was immediately blocked from going outside by Shiki.

"You got everything you need Gaku?" she stated. "Yes Mom, I got everything." Gaku stated with a hint of annoyance. Shiki grabs Gaku and pulls him towards her and hugs him in a mother's embrace. "Be safe out there Gaku. Watch over yourself and don't forget, your comrades are there to help you out." Gaku was shocked at his mother's actions. He understands that this would occur because that's what mothers do. Unfortunately, he had no reaction, but to say a simple "Okay Mom." Shiki lets go of her son and steps aside. "Okay Gaku. Get going. Let us know if anything happens to you." She said. Gaku went towards the door and opened it. He looks back at his mom with a smirk. "Don't worry. It'll be piece of cake." He runs outside and heads towards the Keyblade Academy.

While running towards the Academy, Gaku felt a surge of power embracing him. He stopped for a bit and contemplates where it was coming from. He takes out the Player Pin and feels some surge of power coming from it, like it's telling him to move faster. He puts it in his pocket and gets in stance. "All right, let's see what ya got." He pushed off the ground like a sprinter running a 100 yard dash, and started to dash through the town without touching the ground. As soon as he made it to the Courtyard, he began to panic as he jumped off the stars. "WHOA WHOA HOLY S***!!!!!" He was expecting to eat concrete, but he didn't feel anything. He felt like he was. . . Floating?

"Huh, so the Player Pin allows people to float and dash." Gaku chuckled. "So that's how you did it old man." He had no time to waste though. He decided to practice later and continue dashing towards the Keyblade Academy with no idea of what's in store for his future.

The emperor

The emperor was a bit confused by everyone who had entered the room. He nodded in response to Zion. (I'm guessing they know each other?) "Ah, Zion... It is nice to see you again. I would assume that these two are with you?" He asked, studying Raidyn and Zale.

Indy

Indy laughed. "Don't worry about it, Toshi. I know how he is. I don't really blame him, to be honest. I'm excited to see all these different worlds, too... Of course, I'm better at self-control than he is." Eventually, they reached the palace. "So, do you think that Raidyn's in here already...? I kinda want to look around the town, but it might be best if we go in here to find him."

"So we're going straight to the good stuff," Joel commented about Indy's plan. "Maybe they keep the dragons in the palace. And hopefully Raidyn hasn't gotten into trouble with the authorities yet." Well, I guess Zale can bail him out if need be, Joel thought to himself. But we should still make sure they're okay.

Rei whined.

"It's too cold!"

She was on Ghost's back again...because, well, it's what she did. And so she rode piggyback.

[The Land of Dragons]

Feeling Rei pouncing onto his back, Ghost smiled as he accepted his role as his girlfriend's new method of transportation. Admittedly, it was cold, and the Sentinel-in-Training quietly apologized to his shivering girlfriend for not earning his cape as they both followed the pack of students into the Emperor's Palace. Now in a warmer setting, the worrying boyfriend gently placed Rei back on her feet. Hearing the Emperor's question and seeing Zion with Raidyn, Ghost stayed quiet and figured that talking to someone of that stature was best left to the teachers.

Meanwhile...

Instructor Striker landed his ship on the Palace Rooftop away from peeking eyes of the world residents. He spotted the students making their way to the Palace, and breathed a sigh of relief for being able to regroup with them once again. He exited the ship and carefully skirted the edge of the ornate rooftop, then climbed onto the rafters that braced the structure before making his way towards the castle interior. Staying in the shadows above the Emperor and the students, he quietly listened in to the exchange below, albeit slightly cursing Zion under his breath for not leaving the kids alone.

Zion nodded. "Some of my students." She said. "Sorry they are not as...mature as I had hoped, but I seem to remember a certain boy wasn't exactly the role model of maturity." She grinned. "Anyways. It is their mission, I'm just here to make sure they don't die, get disembowled, dismembered, disturbed, or all of the above."

((You'd assume all Keyblade Masters would have travelled most of the regular canon worlds to meet the leaders, especially when they teach Advanced History))

Rei whined as Ghost set her down, but stayed close. She watched her mother talk, yawning. "That was a good nap..."

Raidyn

"Ah please, Mrs. Zion, like that'll ever happen," Raidyn said, brushing off his teacher's worries. "Anyways, Mr. Emperor, mind answerin' my question? I really wanna know where Mulan is. I'd like to get her help for our current mission," Raidyn once again asked the man on the throne.

Gaku went inside the Keyblade Academy and walked towards the back entrance where the Gummi Ship Hanger is located (I don't know where it's at, correct me if wrong). He notices that there is only one Gummi Ship left there, and it happens to be the Excalibur. Gaku looked at the ship with curiosity and then checked the surroundings. There doesn't seem to be any ships left over. With another look at the ship, Gaku comes to realization that it happens to be Riku's ship. He wanted to get into the ship, but doesn't want to get in anymore trouble. So he decided to wander around to pass time.

A voice called out for him. Gaku turned his head to the source of sound to find Master Riku walking into the hanger.
