Sub sections in the Roleplaying section? Because I see a lot of "Kingdom Hearts RP and 1v1 RP" Maybe have 2 sections for that? or just 1 sub section

 

Why? Because I think it'd be easier for other RP's to get higher up and be well roleplayed in.

 

How my idea is useless:

People don't want/need this its just pointless to have adds more cluster into it.

 

This is too much work.

 

Nobody will like it

Post count is important?

 

I prefer to have proper posts counted than get high on the list with spam-like posts. I mean, let's face it; most RPs in the sections ARE spam. One-liners that have little to none effort behind them. If the RPing was proper, so to say, with posts that have more than just two short sentences in them and a real plotline behind them, that would be different. What I see now are threads that are similar to Forum Games, pointless and "just for fun".

 

True, roleplaying IS mostly for entertainment, but when done with thought they can be something more. For example, to me roleplaying has been a way to improve my writing, create my own characters and develop them. A 20-page 1x1 RP centering around two people going for a cup of coffee doesn't give good opportunities to develop your character and deepen their personalities, past, etc. I dislike roleplay threads between only two members in general; you can do the same thing via MSN or AIM or something like that. :v

I agree with what you're saying. It's how I've been feeling about it for months =

 

I've seen how my friends role-play, and it's entirely different from the ones I see in the role-playing section.

Alot of members with high post counts would drop to around the hundreds if RP posts didn't kind, so I kinda think not counting RP posts would be good

But I like how the RP section is and I don't want it to change.

Here is an example, recently in the Gaming forum, the member "Keyblader" posted TEN AND A HALF pages worth of spam... why? Because his post count didnt increase.

If we take the post count away in RP, all you'll get is MORE "spam".

Any post thats one worded in RP, is mostly an action or text from a character. Making it directly associated with the RP, making it NOT spam.

Sometime Posters post things in Parenthesis... this is known as OOC discussion (Out Of Character)... it lets the members sort out a question or et cetera... involving the RP. Making it directly associated. NOT spam.

 

The only spam we get is from certain members, mostly Darklighter, or Nathan, etc. Common spammers... they go in and post pointless crap.

One of which has been banned for this already.

Problem solved.

 

If there ever is any spam I see, I report it. As does my friend Hinako_U.

Taking away posts in RP, is 1 to 1 more a detraction then an addition.

Not to mention the fact, if you're worried about it... make a new rule:

 

 

in most RP forums... its divided to this:

OOC: This forum is where the OP posts their RP storyline, character profile, and registry. Then... after everyones joined. The thread is used for OOC discussion.

IC: The OP then makes a NEW thread in this, where the players actually follow the story... and join in using the character they registered in OOC.

 

This way, the OOC could have NO post count, because what goes there isnt important. While the IC forum, does have the post count... because what goes there is much more credible.

If you do this, spam will go down... and anything that is out of place can simply be moved.

Yeah, members would have to move all around the forum to get where they want to go, but it is a small price to pay for a much better system.

But a number that puts you on a list.. or high on a list. Thats an honor... not a greedy want. an honor... and people who arent on that list dont realize how awesome it is to be there.

And sorta pushes the lower members into the dust.

Getting rid of he post count to earn takes away the chance for members to get out of the dust.

And organizing it between OOC/IC doesnt RIP it away from member who actually Care... AND gives the chance to newbs to get out of the dust, without spamming. -_-
