It's basically like writing a story, only you control a few specific characters, and do it with a number of other people. It's tough to explain, so it might be best to try to read some other RPs to get a good feel of how they work.

Alright, good luck if you decide to. Just be sure to read all of the rules before doing so. There's usually a signup thread made before the actual RP so that people will know what the RP is about, and what details they need to make their characters.

You basically create a character, and through that character, tell how that character interacts with the world, the environment, and others. You don't declare what other RP characters are doing. You declare your own, and leave it open-ended so the others can interpret it as they choose. I can help if you need it

It's pretty much like this.Someone thinks up the premise and the main plotline.You think up the character that would fit in that universe and you co-write the story with them.For example, here's a Kingdom Hearts roleplay that's on the top of my head:It's been three years since Sora defeated Xehanort, and he's disappeared. A few masters agree to send their pupils to find Sora in the realm of darkness, accompanied by one master himself. That's where you come in.Character sheet:Role: (Master or pupil) (Only one master please to fit the plot!)Name:Keyblade: (can be official appearing in the story, or an original keyblade)Bio:And you would post the character you think up.Role: PupilName: BenjiKeyblade: Three WishesBio: Benji's a pupil. (Bios can be whatever you think up)And afterwards, you can post in the RP controlling your character and interacting with other characters while the main plotline unfolds.
