Could the 3D remake of The After Years have been a planned DS game?

Given the fact it was made with the same engine as the 3D remake of FINAL FANTASY IV on the Nintendo DS, it looks like it could have been a planned late life DS remake.

    Oh, god no. I'm still playing X-2. After I finish X/X-2 HD Remaster I'll get back to IV, then III and then II.
