Sonic CD Ensues, and the Chaos Emeralds are lost. Sonic CD Ends, and a cutscene tying in Sonic CD and Sonic 2 shows. Not like a 3D cutscene, but a good-old, classical cutscene. That, or a Sonic CD style cutscene. Anyways, Sonic 2 Happens, and ends. Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 tie in almost perfectly. He falls from the Death Egg, is caught by Tails, and is lowered, where they discover Angel Island. Sonic 3k ensues and Ends.The benefits of this new version would be as follows: In HD: Still 2D designs, but perfected and improved, clear as crystal. Trophy functionality. An Option to play each game separately, or as one big story. The option to carry over Super-Peel Out from Sonic CD into the remaining titles."Well, what about the multiple playable character things?"Well, Sonic and Tails share the same story, so you can choose to play as one, the other, or both at any time. As for Knuckles, his levels will happen in order of Chronology. So, Sonic 3k's first level would be a Knuckles playthrough."Won't that get repetitive?"Well, Knuckles can already reach paths inaccessible to Sonic and Tails at the beginning of the game. The developers could add more paths in order to make the game more interesting.
