Ok ok I know what you're thinking,can't you play anything other than Final Fantasy?Well,you see I'm currently marathoning the franchise,I finished VII,did a second playthrough of IV,finished Final Fantasy VI my favorite video game of all time,and I'm now playing FFIX

 

 

Anyway,I'm currently 10 hours into disc 1,defeated the mind-controlled Gizmaluke,played with Steiner and excorted Garnet to a train

 

And so far,the game is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTASTIC!!!!

 

 

My favorite track so far is "A place to call home",the theme that plays in the title screen

 

(This.....this is absolutely beautiful...no one can top Uematsu in terms of music ^_^ )

 

I hope the game surpasses all of my expectations like what Final Fantasy VI did.

 

 

Anyway like the previous thread with FFVI I'll be updating this thread as I progress through the game

Well.............................................................While I love Ito's work,I didn't like XII and by that I mean the battle system

 

I don't mind mixing ATB with some MMO elements that were in FF11...but the party members AI is so stupid sometimes that I have to input each one's command individually and yeah I can adjust it with the Gambit system,but it takes forever to find the right adjustment that makes the AI competent in battle

 

Also you can't run away from battles,sure you hold down the R2 button,but the enemy chase down your ass until he gets you so  no point in running away...and don't get me started on Yiazmat.

 

the story overall is ok,the music is good and some of the environments looks beautiful.

 

I might give 12 a chance if they released the much much better Zodiac Job system version,which from what I've seen makes the game much much better, when they do an HD remaster of it.

They would include all the International content so we would have to assume the Zodiac Job System is included.

Man I need to get all these games but I'm saving up for a PS4 right now....and since my mother wont let me get a job until after high school...it's gonna be awhile before I can get them sigh

Steiner was a bit anoying,but I don't hate him. From his point of view it makes sense that Garnet should return to Alexandria.

Not because of that,the dude can never stop bitching about how we "Pollute" the mind of the princess and how much ignorance he has so still believe in the queen even though IT'S QUITE OBVIOUS SHE DID ALL OF THIS...I knew he didn't see her with Kuja,I know he didn't witness the slaughter in Burmecia,but still it's quite obvious the queen is evil

 

Also,he was a total asshole towards zidane

I just defeated the Antlion in Cleyra and OMG Vivi is so powerful with tier 2 spells....two Blizzaras were enough to completely destroy the Antlion.

We got the Princess,we got our asses kicked by Beatrix(seriously are all battles with her scripted and you lose no matter what?)both Beatrix and lunk head Steiner realized their queen is a bitch,we escorted the princess to safety and currently I have to find Ramuh's fragments

Yes he's powerful now,but it gets even better

 

And I'm pretty sure that all the Beatrix fights are scripted,on my second playthough I grinded a bit to see if I could win the battle at the end of disc 1,but I lost anyway

Ok I've left the mist continent and now I'm in the beginning of the Forest of black mages and it kinda starts like a maze

 

Where should I go there?
