Nintendo Announces Another Annual Loss, 6.17 Million Wii U Consoles Sold

And more details here.

Nothing to worry about though, Nintendo is loaded and could keep losing millions of dollars every year for the next ten years and they'd still be quite well off.

The Wii U will make them tons of money once more games come out for it and people realize how great the console is.

Honestly the Wii had just about as much trouble. The PS3 had just about as much trouble. Sony's not doing so good either. They're losing money on the whole market with most of their brands (PlayStation's doing alright, but that doesn't mean Sony hasn't taken a major loss somewhere else in the market). Sure it sounds all doom and gloom for everyone, but Nintendo will get more sales in the next for years. The Wii was one of the highest selling consoles out there. Not to mention that the Wii U is doing the best out of all 3 consoles in Japan itself. Most of Nintendo's losses are coming from a biased corporate country, not much we can do about that. NoA failed to market the console correctly to us. I haven't even seen a single commercial anywhere on TV informing people of the difference between it and the Wii, nor have I seen a Wii U commercial anywhere on TV. They haven't even tried marketing just how comfortable the gamepad is. Instead, they have promotional offers (which aren't bad if you have one or have been interested), but it it doesn't exactly help sell the console to a target family audience.

My Wii U is my most used console ever since I got it. I use it for almost everything from gaming to the internet or YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu plus. It's a great console, but the marketing is poor. I originally only got it for The Wind Waker, but once the console was in my hands, I found out just how great it was. My first initial thoughts of the Wii U were next to nothing, but I promised myself to grab one for The Wind Waker, and here I am now, using an extremely comfortable device to play games and immerse myself not only in them, but in an entire community built for gamers and family users alike.
