Nintendo Following Skylanders/Disney Infinity Path?

Posted

It appears Nintendo may be unveiling a figurine based game similar to Skylanders and Disney Infinity.

New, more reliable source.

It seems several NFP games will be on the way, but Nintendo intends to unveil just one of many along with an entire set of figurines at E3 next month.

They are indeed doing this thing. It will be under the name of NFP(Nintendo Figurine Platform/NFC Feature platform) Though it doesn't seem to fully be something like Skylander, that image seems to suggest, it is some kind of achievement thing, since the Mario figurine seem to be receiving, info from 3 games.

Until I see official confirmation I'd see this as a rumor especially since source is Kotaku

Also,I think it might be something similar to Pokemon Rumble U.Maybe a F2P game on the e-shop in which you use NFC toys....etc

Other than that,I'd need to see an official confirmation since y'know.....E3 is close and tons upon tons of rumors surfaces and most of them turns out to be fake.....like that fake new console rumor by IGN

It's real. I dun exactly understand the system they're running for this idea, but alright.

Oh geez, why are they doing this? -_-

It's an investment. Parents of Skylanders and Disney Infinity children are likely to buy into it. Heck, I'm willing to invest in it for myself for the sole purpose of it being Nintendo.

Well it's not really bad until we see the actual method of it and they've already did it with Pokemon Rumble U

Ok then, though I'd imagine the project to be a F2P game on the e-shop where you use the toys

I'm just getting a really bad feeling that they'll just make this another cheap cash-in like Skylanders just to grub money out of poor parents who will spend a ton just for these little figures. This is Nintendo, so I could be proven wrong here, but anything relating to Skylanders makes me feel kind of uneasy.
