Nintendo Already Has 'Clear Idea' About Wii U Successor

Featured Replies

So basically, IGN learned something that everybody else already knew. Way to go IGN, good to know I can count on you for redundantly reminding me about common knowledge.  xP

I hope that this new system isn't announced until at least 2017

I just got a wii u and I don't want them to just release a new console soon after.

This console won't be announced until at least 2019

Heck I won't be surprised if Sony was working on the Ps5 already for 2019

They won;t stop the Wii U,for the last time, just because Nintendo said they're working on one doesn't mean they'll announce it this E3 or the E3 after or the E3 after

They won't hopefully cuz this would be the worst decision ever and we know what happened to Sega with CD,32X,Saturn,Game Gear and Nomad

“Once we launch a new platform, we naturally start to prepare for the next one. As it takes several years to develop a single platform, if you ask us whether we are preparing for our next system, then the correct response will be that we are always developing new hardware."

“I, of course, believe that launching new hardware will not produce good results unless we first make sure that those who have already purchased our platforms are satisfied. We will continue to work hard to ensure that consumers who already own our platforms are satisfied, and make sure that people will continue to see great value in our software, but I would like to say that we are preparing for our next hardware system, and in fact, we already have a clear idea to some extent about the direction our next hardware is going to take.”

So yeah. There is nothing to worry about. It will still be a long while until the next console is released.

Meh, it will be a while until Nintendo unveils thewir next console anyway. I'm fine with my 3DS and Wii U right now.
