Posted May 25, 201411 yr That Pokemon Types don't cancel out Take Mamoswine, for example. It's Ice/Ground, but even though Ground resists fire, fire is still 2x. Maybe I just screwed this all up, or something...
May 25, 201411 yr uhhhh yeah they cancel out when the defending pokemon's typing is both super effective and not very effective. lolFire vs. Ground is neutral damage, but Ground vs. Fire is super effective.

Thanks. Thanks you two. I was thinking I was being dumb somewhere.
May 29, 201411 yr Here's a type chart: http://pokemondb.net/type You may find it hard to remember, but it just kicks in when you play the game. Take it this way: Some believe a Fairy/Dragon type is the ultimate type, but it has 4 major weaknesses (Fairy, Ice, Steel, Poison) and most only have two, even with dual typing. If there's ever a Fairy/Dragon, you can easily cover it, making it a pretty weak typing. Steel/Fairy is considered the best type in existence, and then for me, a Ghost/Fairy would be the best type. Though it doesn't have many resistance (Only one which is bug, but it's the strongest resistance possible), it's only weak to Steel (2x), and has three immunities (Dragon, Normal, Fighting), and the rest are neutral and you can easily cover them by setting your moveset up with moves that are super effective against multiple types. Just realized I put down Poison instead of Steel (corrected it). Ghost has a resistance to Poison, so it's neutral. Steel's the only weakness a Ghost/Fairy would have. May 31, 201411 yr Then again, it depends on which kind of Pokémon you're going for: if it's a sweeper, or a wall. Like it was said above: Steel/Fairy's pretty good, but it depends as I said above. A good sweeper would be a Dragon/Ground (Garchomp imo), and a good wall would be a Steel/Fairy type

Take Mamoswine, for example.
It's Ice/Ground, but even though Ground resists fire, fire is still 2x.
