My theory about the teaser and onwards

Posted

In KH Chi they say that they were 6 masters, but one of them didn't cualified to be a foreteller... So what if the sixth master searched for his own pupils, Xehanort & Eraqus, they both had dark ambitions (That's why Eraqus's voice sounded dark in the teaser), the 6th master would tell them all about Kingdom Hearts, the X-blade, and The Keyblade War, and Xehanort was his favorite, but one day their master got corrupted by darkness, both Xehanort & Eraqus were in presence, Eraqus began to be scared of darkness, while Xehanort took his master's Keyblade & his master ambitions (Create the X-blade, do a Keyblade War, etc.) And that would explain why in BBS Eraqus is afraid of Terra's darkness, and what he says the moments before his death "My own heart is darkness"

If you have any ideas to add, or want to change something of it tell me!

Good theory, now lets say that even though Eraqus hated the darkness afterwards, he tried to kill Ven and Terra, he did not promote Terra to a Master even though Terra is as skilled as Aqua(just because he used a little darkness power), and he forced Aqua to spy on Terra.  That's why he said "My own heart is darkness," because no matter how much he tried to let go of his dark past, the darkness was still there manipulating him.

KH3 has a lot to do with Eraqus, and even though the first KH3 was symbolic, why did they choose Eraqus's keyblade out of any others like the Kingdom Key or TAV's keyblades.

Except that even if they didn't parish in the Keyblade War, he and the Foretellers would all be long dead by now. The teaser says many years, but everything else in the series seems to suggest that it was centuries ago.

I dunno, I'm still convinced that Yen Sid was their Master. He knew how rebellious a student Xehanort was and he observes twilight while Eraqus presides over light and Xehanort chases darkness.

I would love an elaborate prologue ft. YX/YE or even a ton of other characters like riku, kairi or mickey, that keeps us waiting to find out where Sora and company are in the present day.

The thing that bothers me with Yen Sid being their master is why did he explained all of the things of the Keyblade War to Xehanort, if he knew he was seeking power...

so the keyblade war that MX always talks about in bbs took place during khxchi?

Supposedly

Except that's not at all what happened. Eraqus and Xehanort had a master who was basically biased towards the Light and that's how Eraqus became so stubbornly antagonistic towards the Darkness. Xehanort was curious, and the idea of their master just completely shunning the Darkness was what fueled his interest in the Darkness. Wouldn't you be more curious about the one thing that your superior told you to NEVER EVER do under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES? Think of it more like that one scene in the Lion King where Mufassa tells Simba to never go to the Elephant Graveyard. He knows it's dangerous and that he's not supposed to go there and won't be told any more about what it is, so he goes there to find out. That's more or less the same instinct with Xehanort. Xehanort and Eraqus never shared any "dark ambitions", Eraqus wished to follow in his master's footsteps of keeping the Light alive to push back the Darkness, while Xehanort kept thinking that they only way to balance things was to create more Darkness.

And Eraqus doing all of that to spite the Darkness and all of those that it had a hold over is just plain ridiculous. Everything he did he did out of concern for his pupils as well as the world at large. He wanted to make sure his students were never lost to the Darkness, but he also had a duty to protect the world from a massive overflow of Darkness as well. He didn't try to "kill" Ven, he tired to imprison him (hence the chains), same thing with Terra. He meant to imprison them in Light or something like that, but knew that if things got too out of control, he may have to vanquish them both. He wasn't someone with a Darkness complex, he just got the wrong idea about the balance of Light and Darkness, that Light was the only good thing in the world and that Darkness was nothing but bad. By recognizing that his own heart had Darkness, he could have come to understand that Darkness isn't inherently evil and that even too much Light can blind one to the truth of things, but he was killed before that could happen. He wasn't paranoid of the own Darkness in his heart, he just had a very biased view about Darkness. That's all.

Yen Sid wasn't their master (at least, I'm pretty sure), he was described as "a dear old friend", meaning they were fellow pupils. Yen Sid may have been an older student and became Master sooner than Eraqus and Xehanort, or may have had a different master altogether and may have visited with the two and their master frequently. Again, it all depends on how much they are willing to explain the past in Kingdom Hearts III.

And who knows? It's possible the Foretellers found a way to live a very long time, or at least this guy did. Again, I hope the past is given enough time to be explained.

I think you're on to something. I always wondered why Xehanort's Keyblade was similar to the forteller's keyblades. They all have animals & the blue eye. I believe that Xehanort & Eraqus' master was the 6th forteller & Xehanort somehow got his keyblade, whether it was passed down to him or whatever. I doubt their master was evil, but he probably had darkness in him & maybe it got the best of him somehow.

During Terra's story in BBS if you talk to Yen Sid after he says whatever he has to say, he says "I used to train alongside Eraqus & Xehanort." Or something along those lines. Pretty interesting.

I don't think explained everything. I believe that he told them just enough so that they would understand their duty as Keyblade Masters, and Xehanort delved more into the subject on his own.

He says "Xehanort, I had hoped your heart would no longer lead you astray"

Obviously, he knows the kind of student Xehanort was and, given that he's retired, I assume that he has been a master much longer than either of them, that is why I think he was their master. That and he always seems to know more than he lets on, except in 3D
