Yes, that's called the Remote Play feature, which allows you to connect your PSP to your PS3 by syncing them both up together so that some functions of the PSP can be handled on the PS3, like playing games. Whether or not it saves data to and fro is something I don't know about specifically.

I don't know much about it, but I know it can happen, considering I've seen someone set up BBS with the PS3 to play real online battles

Wait, those exist? ._. Are you able to play the game with a PS3 controller, or do you have to get close to the TV and use the PSP?

the cable has red, white,and yellow ends (I feel like im missing a color though). you use the PSP as a controller and the sound and picture is on the TV. I would google "PSP picture and sound on TV cable." I cant remember the exact name of it
