This is the most hypocritical thing i've seen in my life!

Recommended Posts

If this guy hates technology and social media so much, how the hell did he get so much attention? Technology and social media websites! Oh, the irony!

This video is an illogical over-exaggeration that plays with peoples emotions through sombre music and bad poetry.

Even though he makes some good points on the video, it is possible to have a healthy balance between technology and real life.

I for one, think technology is amazing and without technology we would've never gone to the moon, and despite the videos message that if you shut down the computer/Iphone you would meet the girl of your dreams there are instances where this is inverted, like for example:

Xaon and Flaming Lea

This video is freaking hypocritical that it goes against itself.

Uggh these types of videos are so stupid and annoying. And of course everybody acts like they never do this type of stuff actually do this stuff constantly. This dude is not trying to send a message. He is just looking for attention and he knows that anybody who does a video like this will get attention.

That's a good line; I might use that.

I actually agree with most the video up til about 2.30 something.  Don't care for the rap or music.  I think anyone can have a healthy balance of internet social life and IRL socializing

But a lot of people would rather focus on documenting their time out to highlight to their FB hub that they have a life, rather than enjoy what they're doing at that moment cause it's more important to get the perfect shot or video for online first. I remember actually questioning my boyfriend if we're considered dysfunctional by society's norms 'cause we weren't putting each of our every moments on facebook, i.e. no "Eating at -Resturant-" "Watching -X- in -Y- Cinema" or "Got this from my bf so cute blah blah" for other people's benefit.

Like is there a need at all to be on a social media site when you're with people?  If you feel the need to, you mustn't like the people you're with.  Or a need to be on it outside?  You're outside for a reason, get it done instead of wasting time online scrolling.  It's not helping anyone for people to be walking their ass into everyone in a crowded high street cause they're looking at their phone.

EDIT: Most hypocritical thing I've seen was something to do with Zelda U, while trashing people who didn't particularly like the art style, saying you should like all Zelda things regardless, they dissed other Zelda art styles.  Like literally started with saying don't do this, and did it at the end of the sentence

One of the main things that people who have this mind set seem to not do is look at other perspectives. I'm too socially awkward (I mean, I'm a introvert and I hate talking to people most of the time, before the internet, I had two friends I actually gave half a crap about, the rest were more like aquaintances if anything) to just go out and say hi to a random person. Before the internet, I would have stayed inside because I had no reason or will to go outside. The only diffrent between my being on my device and not is that one I entertain myself, the other I sit around and do nothing for most the day. I'm too afraid of other people to look others in the eye, but on a message board, I can speak with people because if you don't wanna deal with something, you can just close out the site and not deal with it. I don't have to look a person in the eye, and I don't have to put all my confidence into every word I say and still only barely be heard. In places like this, I can make friends because I am able to say what I mean and be understood on it, and I can find people with similar interests or mindsets and feel confident enough to speak with them.

I agree and disagree with some of the things in this video. I still think it's rude to sit on your phone while you're eating dinner with someone or in the company of others, but I don't think people are becoming as anti-social as this guy seems to believe. Also, I love the connection that I can have with people without ever meeting them face to face. I have been in a happy relationship for a year now and I never would have had the courage to even say hello to my now girlfriend if it hadn't been for facebook chat. Now I have no idea how many hours we've spent in each other's real company without the assistance of social media. Technology isn't evil and I'm sure people will balance it out with real interaction just fine.
