Hironobu Sakaguchi's next game announced

Posted

Final Fantasy creator and The Last Story director Hironobu Sakaguchi is set to discuss his next game at Japan Expo this week, and Famitsu magazine reveals that it is indeed titled Terra Battle. Sakaguchi’s studio Mistwalker filed a trademark for the game earlier.

Terra Battle is, as many suspected, a new game for smartphones. Like many of Sakaguchi’s previous projects, it is a role-playing game. Famitsu conducted an interview with the director, covering topics such as the game’s production staff and more.

According to Game Jouhou, the possibility of porting Terra Battle to home consoles is also discussed during the interview.

Additionally, the interview teases that the Terra Battle team is in talks with a bunch of different creators for a “special something” they’re preparing for the game.

We’ll have further news on Terra Battle this week.

Update: Japanese blog Hachima Kiko reports that Nobuo Uematsu will be composing music for Terra Battle. The game will launch this September as a free-to-play title.

Hopefully it will be better than Tesuya Nomura's game, All The Bravest.

He couldn't do that even if he wanted too.
