Anyone know if the Japanese version of XIII is harder than the English version? I'm thinking if so, that would be why they released an Easy Mode update in Japan.

I still didn't have too much of a problem beating it.

Square Enix is a business first, they'll evaluate each thing for each market and make a decision based on their evaluations. These so called "goodies" were simply deemed by Square Enix (after their evaluations) to not sell well enough in that market.

It was harder, I was lucky enough to play both. What sucked most was the level cap, and not getting Gil for battles. But the English version was difficult too.

Ok that's a new information to me, I've never heard of any game being harder in Japanese version more than overseas...
