Nintendo To Livestream From Comic Con

Posted

Nintendo will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS tournament at the San Diego Comic-Con this year. In addition to the tournament, the publisher also plans to run a two-day livestream from the show.

On July 25th and 26th, Nintendo will be streaming from Comic-Con via their Twitch channel. Here’s how they describe their livestream:

On July 25 and July 26, Nintendo will stream Nintendo Challenge Live, a stage show hosted from the Nintendo Gaming Lounge that features intense tournament competition and awesome game-play challenges from some of the hottest upcoming games on Nintendo platforms. Fans can open their browsers to http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo to catch all of the action and stick around for hours to soak in all the festivities.

That doesn’t sound as ambitious as Nintendo’s E3 Treehouse Live event, so we’d advise not getting your hopes up for anything beyond gameplay footage. The games scheduled to appear at Nintendo’s booth include those listed below. Just how many of these will be on the livestream remains to be seen.

Nintendo 3DS:

Wii U:

  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
  • Yoshi’s Woolly World
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Bayonetta 2
  • Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
  • Just Dance 2015
  • Skylanders Trap Team
  • Shovel Knight
  • 1001 Spikes
  • Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition

Thanks for the heads up! I can't wait to see more of the 3DS Smash in action, but that's because it's the version I least want. Smash Run so far hasn't appealed to me but I hope the multiplayer is good.

You know what SSB Facebook page said about the tourney?

"Super Smash Bros. will be at San Diego Comic-Con in full force! Join us for the first-ever Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS tournament, tips and tricks live-streamed straight from the show floor and even a few special surprises."

OooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

Curtain Call's kinda old news, but yeah, looking forward to this.

No new Pokemon OR  and AS news? I'm a bit sad now.

Nice! Will tune in.

Sadly, there doesn't look like we'll see any of that at Comic Con. But I wish we did see some new gameplay of it.

We'll be getting plenty of news from Corocoro before they release. Gamefreak tends to advertise more through Corocoro than at these types of events.
