I've been wondering about this for a while. Kairi lived with her grandma, and was sent to Destiny Islands by Xehanort. But why was she living with her grandma in the first place? And where are her parents? I have a theory, it may be eh, but oh well.

Kairi's dad= Master Xehanort.

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. WHAT THE FU- ARE YOU THINKING SORAKING?

Let me give some more facts to try to back this up. MX possibly had a daughter with an unnamed woman (player player lol), and Kairi was born, blah blah. He wanted the X-Blade, so he extracted the darkness from her heart (Princess of Heart). Her mother possibly could have been a magical person (witch? Namine' connection maybe?), and could have put a spell on her, so MX couldn't use her, blah blah blah. Kairi's mom sends her to her grandma to place her under her care. Time skip, blah. Xehanort gets a hold of Kairi because shes a POH, and remembers that shes his daughter, and brings her to Destiny Islands.

Now, I know this theory is total shit, but it's something that I just thought of, and yeah. Discuss.

Yes, what are you thinking SoraKing?

You see, I just finished drawing a poster with a sharpie for like an hour, and the fumes might have f'd up my thoughts.

Even though it's unlikely, it's possible :/. It's friggin Nomura for God's sake.

i thought ANSEM sent her to D.I.

That explains so much.

Nah. Judging by the order the Ansem Reports were written, it looks like sending Kairi off into the ocean of other worlds was amongst the last things Apprentice Xehanort did before he became a heartless.

This really is...something. Assuming Kairi is younger than Sora, since MX was already busy training Ven, I doubt he would've gotten the chance to go to RG and...yeah....

Going back to the reports though: Apprentice Xehanort had no idea whether Kairi was a PoH or not. He didn't even care whether she would survive this experiment, and just gave her the boot off the planet to test his theory.

I have chosen a special girl. I do not know if she possesses the power of the Princesses, but there is a chance, and this is an experiment. She may lead me to the place where the one holding the key is...

I shall send her off to the ocean of other worlds.

@ Keyblader. No, Xehanort sent her.

@Reversal. ROFL

Xehanort experemented on kairi to see if a POH can go to other worlds without falling to darkness. So since kairi had no darkness in her heart. He choose kairi as a test to see what would happen.

Also there are NO fami:y relationships in KH. Nomura confimed it.

Nomura was wrong, there are several familial relationships in KH.

Kairi= Grandma + Foster Dad

Sora's mom calling him in KH

Sora's dad mentioned by Riku

He didn't say that there was no family relationships in KH. He said that family relationship wasn't important in KH...

but does Kairi have parents

Why wouldn't she?

but does Kairi have parents

She has a grandmother. That implies that she has parents. But at least Kairi has a guardian; just who exactly has been taking care of Riku all these years?

You know Reversal I think the Kairi evolving from a rock theory can hold water I mean since Nomura is japanese he'll probably just use nanomachines to explain convoluted plot points and maybe a few uses of the word darkness.

Speaking seriously here, you know the theory's gone way off when the Nomura card is thrown out. I've seen way too many unjustified theories where the only proof is "Nomura will totally do this because he's Nomura." It's getting old.

He means families that have to do with the story, and KH is about friends and stuff, so the parents arent important.

There happens to be a family relationship that's important in the series: Ienzo-Ansem.

Ienzo, his adopted son who asked for the secret underground laboratory to conduct experiments on the heart, and later betrayed him. You can only imagine the pain Ansem must've felt back then.

Ansem the Wise is Kairi's father.

Ansem the Wise is Kairi's father.

Ansem refers to Kairi as a resident of the world over which he ruled in his reports. They're not related.

Here are the family relations we know of: Kairi and her grandmother, and Sora and his mom and dad. Anything else is completely up in the air. Riku's parents could be a hippo and a tomato, and Kairi could very well have evolved from a rock.

We don't know if Riku has any parents. He was referring to Sora's dad in BBS.

Whoops, I guess I thought he refered to his own dad. I'll edit it.

Right cause Ansem is not known at all for covering stuff up and hiding truths to fit his goals lol

Well while I agree let's also be fair Nomura does have some things come outta left field... in another ballpark at times so its not too hard to agree with the idea we can never assume what Nomura will throw at us next, It does have some validity even if most the theories are way out of what he would actually do like family he avoids that shit (makes me wonder if he had bad parents honestly how out of his way he goes to avoid parents or family really does raise some psychology questions on his upbringing for me as a psych minor lol.)
