this forum post is gonna be long and may contain spoilers.

 

a while ago, my friend and i made a deal. id watch 2 episodes of yugioh gx and he would watch 2 episodes of no game no life. after the first episod I WAS HOOKED!!!! i realized that i used to watch this when episodes where still airing on 4kids. my friend was too. that how he remembers it and why he loves it. but at the time that i was watching it, i really didnt care for the likes of it for some reason. i just said. "oh! yugioh! cool!" and watched it but he was really into it and watched every new episode when it came out. years later here i am kinda re watching it.

 

the moments i turned on the first episode on hulu i knew that id love it! ^_^ at first the anime was kinda slow and focused in 1 or 2 episode arcs and i liked it. but then it got awesomer! ever scince the shadow riders arc the show has only gone up! then the society of light arc absolutly mesmerized me and i thought it was genios! (And stand by that) i also thought it was cool how light was the enemy this time! and then there was the gargantuan yubel arc that spawned for an entire season with barely any side episodes! this is the high point of the series! i loved how they gave backstory to jaden and yubel and such a heartstring tugging one too! ever scince i heard about it i wanted them to make up and become friends! i just didnt think someone as heartbroken as yubel deserves anything less that being reunited as friends with jaden/judai. i was SO SO glad that they went that route and made them merge! and then something terrible happened. 4kids, excuse my language but f*** you for stopping to dub GX after the biggest cliffhanger in the entire series! seriously! season 4 is my favorite season and you decide that its a good idea to flip off the young fans in the us that want a conclusive ending and start airing an antirely new series of yugioh!? thats DUMB! i still love 4kids because they brought so many good animes to a new generation outside japan but i dont agree with this! 4kids rant aside, lets move on.

 

i really am glad that jaden/judai retirned to the academy and didnt just up and leave his friends. that would have been horrible (and 4kids made thousands of kids think it was that). i wasent happy that he changed his personality but if he didnt then the duel against yugi wouldent mean as much. the fourth season is so heartwarming and bittersweet becouse of their graduation and having to leave while holding on to their bonds of friendship. seeing how crowler was that sad when they were leaving made me feel incredibly bittersweet and that was excelent! (and i love how prof. banner and pharaoh joined jaden/judai after he left )

 

overall, yugioh gx is the best yugioh series that i have seen so far. it has everything! GREAT arcs. FANTASTIC charicters. GENIOS writing! it all came together so well and i loved every second of it! if you are one of the people that are reading this despite the spoilers, are into anime, and havent seen this anime, i think you should really give it a shot! Words cannot explain how much i love this anime now! now why are we still reading? LETS WATCH YUGIOH GX!

I remember when GX came on when I was a kid, but I never watched past the first episode cause Yugi wasn't in it. A couple of years ago I re-watched Yu-Gi-Oh and then moved on to GX. Wasn't too fond of it at first but I gave it a chance considering it was doing well with including things/people from the previous series. I got very interested when the Shadow Riders were introduced and was hooked from there. I really liked the next seasons, upping the stakes and presenting a focus on a character with dark powers. It was very subtle in the second season, saying Jaden has to save the world by using darkness, but I really liked it; not a lot of stories present a hero with dark powers. The third season was fantastic, I loved all the new characters (Jesse especially) and the expansion of Jaden's dark powers through the Supreme King, I was legitimately shocked at that. (He had yellow eyes! Jadenort!) My only problem with the series was the never dubbed season four( I wanted a dubbed Yugi vs Jaden duel, dammit!) and, even though Jaden did get some back story, I didn't feel it was enough. How exactly were Jaden and the Supreme King connected? Was it reincarnation or maybe the Supreme King's powers follow Jaden's family. That one scene at the finale of season 3 wasn't enough. I wanted it to go more in-depth, but I still love the series. It was really hard to go to 5Ds after it, going from happy-go-lucky Jaden to really serious Yusei was hard and it was one of the reasons I didn't like 5Ds. I like the carefree, happy characters, it's probably why I'm really liking Arc-V, Yuya is similar in character. I just noticed: Jaden is the only main character in the Yu0Gi-Oh series not to have a first name with the letter "Y", although his last name starts with "Y".

Yes that final Yugi versus Judai duel was so epic!

i like how the original yugioh had both a nice charicter (yugi moto) and a badass (yami yugi) all in one!

I'm glad you're actually giving Arc-V the chance it deserves. I think it has got the potential to turn out as a really great series that could probably rival that of GX.

 

But never 5D's. 5D's is always number one!

Yu-Gi-Oh GX had the best theme song out of all the Yu-Gi-Oh shows. I had no idea there was supposed to be another season. 4kids, you bastards. 

In my opinion yugioh GX was the best one out of them all, the original was good but not great, 5ds i didnt watch but felt weird since they're on motocycles, and i hate zexal its so bad (in my opnion) its just a kid collecting all the monsters i think. either way i dont like it.

I'm actually glad it didn't. 4Crap would have butchered it for sure. The final season of any series is always epic, so I'm glad the epicness wasn't tampered with. Same applies to 5D's.
