It works for Smash Bros too.

So they are ignoring the original 3DS because we were loyal  enough and we bought it on it's release?

Why would you want to use a fight stick for Smash though?

it is being made to play Smash and this is the first time Smash was on a handheld so it'll be kinda similar for some people who use fight sticks before

I understand that much but smash never stuck me as a game that needed such a peripheal is the thing

Well, knowing how rough I am with my arcade stick, I think I'd send the 3ds flying if I tried to use this. O_O (Not that I have a 3dsXL)

And a GameCube controller!

Really?Is Nintendo seriously doing that?

Nah, someone got one working on it.

I played Smash 3DS back at Smashfest, and it works perfectly fine with the standard 3DS controls. : I don't see any need to get a new controller for it.

Yeah, smash is the one "fighting" game that I'd prefer to use a controller with.

I don't play many fighting games, but I honestly can't imagine playing the ones I like with an arcade stick or anything like that. It's just a weird idea to me. ._.

Heh, that's perfectly fine.:) There's a learning curve to it, especially if you're already use to using a controller. Really, you can do just fine without one. Unless you want to be an ultra high level tourney player, then you should probably look into investing. xD And I haven't played many fighting games either, there's probably a bunch that are just fine without a fighting stick.

Honestly, I just find a certain novelty in using one, and since I only use a stick when playing fighting games it makes them feel more unique when I play 'em. I'm not even that good at them.

Personally the only reason I want to switch to stick is the fact the button layout make certain things easier

That I would agree with. Once I got used to the stick, hitting the right buttons got much easier. Though, I found it harder to do quarter-circle inputs, but that may just be me.
