Has anyone from the USA abroad? Can you tell about your experience?

Canadians, I am thinking of attending a Canadian university because it is way cheaper than the US even with International rates. My dad might move to the Buffalo, NY.

I studied abroad last year in Japan and it was great!  I think it's important to leave your home country and see how other people live.  And if studying abroad is cheaper then that's a win win.  For me the college tuition was the same, but the flight ticket and cost of living was higher so I got scholarships for that.

I guess the only concern would be things like health care, work permits if you want a job, an international driver's license if you plan to drive and that stuff.  I've heard Canada has good health care but I don't know what it's like for non-citizens, but in Japan the health care turned into a huge headache for a number of exchange student.  That more has to do with Japan being behind the times when it comes to medicine >.>  But I would recommend researching that stuff before you go because every country has different rules and procedures.  Luckily you won't have to worry about a language barrier unless you go to Quebec.

I'm Canadian, and I'm trying to get the hell out of here for college xD but there are a lot of options here. If you want to search for a specific program or something, just go to this website: http://www.electronicinfo.ca/en/page.php?id=35

It'll tell you about programs, tuition, dorms. Pretty much everything.

I can't quite say I've studied abroad (I'm still in high school and the trip wasn't overly long) but my high school visited Europe and it was an amazing experience. The countless art museums weren't really my thing, but a lot of other people seemed to enjoy it. It's also just such a different place that even "normal" everyday experiences were different and I just can't even describe how exciting it was.

But you can't really say "how was your experience" because it varies depending on where you want to go and you didn't specify a location.

Does Arizona count

Does Arizona count

Arizona is a state, it can't count. Sorry :(
