Meet Yunalesca,The woman tasked to deliver the final aeon to the summoners at the end of their pilgrimage, and also the hardestmost annoying non-optional boss battle in the entire game

Literally before you fight her you're gonna set through 7+ minutes cutscene and then after that you fight her and holy shit she has so much HP and she has three forms....THREEEEE FREAKING FOOOORMS

The battle with her requires patience and so much Holy water as she looooves to induce the Zombie status on you

And if you die...guess what? You're gonna set through that 7+ minutes cutscene all over again EVERY....SINGLE....TIME you want to fight her

Someone explain to me why the f*** the HD remaster doesn;t have the options to skip cutscenes?Especially since it was being remastered for TWO FREAKING YEARS!Which btw is a longer period than the time both KH 1.5 and 2.5 took to get remastered

It really isn't hard to code and program the option to skip a cutscene when you pause it

This boss battle right here showcase this problem more than anything in the game. Now I know why she's so infamous among the people who played the game

Don't get me wrong I loooooooooooooove Final Fantasy X but it gets irritating when you're forced to set through a long cutscene that preceeds a long boss battle

there is an rpg with cutscenes that doesent have a skip otion now? i thought that would have become standard by now.

I'd excuse the original version cuz back then early RPGs didn't have it

But the HD collection?Square has no excuse not to add a cutscene skipping option

i agree.

I had to collect those 10 crystals, avoid ice spears, and sit through the final boss' cutscene four times

Yes, a cutscene skip option would have been welcome

so you can hate the enemy and feel like youve won the olympics when you actually defeat  her

That was all just lazy on Square's part. You'd think that they would've added a option to skip the cutscenes in this HD remaster the same way they did for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix HD.

Exactly, and unlike KH 1,5,Final Fantasy X was being remastered for two years and the only thing they did is just upping the resolution, remix the music, polish the models and that's it

If you have the original Ps2 version there isn't really a reason to pick the HD release unless you didn't play the Ps2 version

Ummm, what? Lol. HD 1.5 ReMIX begun development before X/X-2 HD Remaster.

They remastered all three games, re-orchestrated the music, translated Eternal Calm and Last Mission, added Nojima's audio drama. Oh and X obviously took awhile since Square didn't keep their assets until X-2. They also did a bit of work with the PS Vita version.

Umm FFX HD was announced waaaay before KH 1.5

And my point still stands,WHY ISN'T THERE AN OPTION TO SKIP CUTSCENES!IT'S NOT HARD TO CODE SUCH THING PEOPLE!

And this is the boss fight that made me quit this game forever and realize just how broken the bosses really are.

The bosses are doable and that includes Yunalesca it's just you have to be super extra careful in the third form ......and that f***ing cutscene

That means nothing, they only announced it then because of that big PS Vita event.

Nomura said ages ago that they started development of it before X/X-2 HD Remaster.

I'm not debating against that, I don't think they ever provided a reason, I don't think anyone asked them.

They don;t need to be asked, cutscene skipping has been almost a stable in every JRPG ever since 2002 and after

I don;t get how they managed to add it into KH 1.5 but not in X?

It's not really hard to do so and would've been helpful for the players so they won't sit through the same 10 minutes of cutscenes everytime they had to redo a boss battle

This could've been easily fixed and you know it

Well KHFM technically had the feature in place. X did not. Yeah, it seems very simple, but unfortunately we do not have an answer. Kinda like we don't have one for auto-battle and music player in FF3.

Yeah but also in the original KHFinal Mix on Ps2 you can't skip a cutscene unless you've seen said cutscene once( I imported that and played it years ago so I'm not lying)

And even then that doesn't change the fact that they should've added the option to skip cutscenes regardless of it not being there

This is 2014 and almost all RPGs in the market(except for a select few) gives you the option to skip the cutscenes

And regardless of what you've mentioned, that doesn't change the fact that it's reaaaaaaaaaaally easy to code the option into the game

Yes, but that means the feature's already there, they would have just had to adjust it.

You forget they lost all the assets, that may have played a part. Who knows. We won't ever know. It's easy to code auto-battle into FF3 as well. But yeah, nothing we can do about it. Just be good at the game and you don't have to worry.

Wait they've lost all assets with KH1 only....they never said such a thing about FF X at all

And even THEN,they could've programmed it my point still stands, same as auto-battle but that isn't an annoyance compared to not being able to skip a 10 minutes cutscene

Also I'm good at the game otherwise I wouldn't have got there but that doesn't change the fact that it's annoying to go through when you lose against a boss....which will happen to any first timer who played an RPG he didn't play before

They did lose the assets for FFX. I feel like auto-battle being left out is an annoyance in a grind heavy game.

Again, yes, they should have added it, but they have not and we have no reason why same for FF3 as a prime example. Nothing we can do.

Any source to prove what you're saying?Cuz I don't remember ANYWHERE that Kitase or anyone has said they've lost assets for FFX

Not every HD collection is done due to lost assets otherwise that would've meant that every collection in the world is done due to losing assets of the original lol

Yes, but they're way too freaking long to fight, and have stupid one-shot moves that you never know about until it's too late. Not to mention that, until you defeat Yunalesca, there's no way to go back to a lower-level area and grind, which I needed because I was underleveled (I was still new to RPGs and didn't understand that running from battles meant losing experience, since running didn't have any penalties in Pokemon).

Actually you can go back to the previous area in the same ruins and grind...that's what I pretty much did...I backtracked a bit, grinded and charged the overdrives of my aeon....and after 6 painful tries I finally murdered the bitch

I remember it from past interviews. Try Nova Crystallis or someone. I never implied that. They still had the assets from X-2 for example.

Anything that couldn’t be transferred from the original had to be created from scratch. The Visual Works team, specifically Kazuyuki Ikomori, was also called in to give the game’s cinematics a a new look in proper widescreen resolution."
