Game Director and Chief Producer of a number of acclaimed fighting games, Katsuhiro Harada, has confirmed via Twitter that Pokken Tournament won’t be limited to Fighting Type Pokemon. Harada wouldn’t reveal any more than that, but hopefully we will get more details about the arcade based title in the near future.

Now all that is left is confirmation for type advantages/disadvantages or abilities. If they keep abilities, Slaking will be terrible.

I doubt typing and abilities will be in the game,most likely it'll be similar to that fan-made fighting game called Pokemon Type-Wild

 

That game didn't have Type-Advantagesdisadvantages,but I think they kept abilities though not sure

 

I think Pokken Fighters will at least have special moves and finishersUltras

Here's hoping for a casual two button mode where you can only play as Wobbufett.

Well it;s a no brainer that they should be in the game,though I'd expect them to play very similarly to Bruce Irvin and Steve Fox from Tekken

Heck yes, I was sure this would happen anyway, but this opens up so many new opportunities. Too bad most of my favorites wouldn't work well for a fighter... Here's hoping for Greninja, though!

I know haha. Its like we knew that Fighting Types weren't the only type within the game, but we needed the confirmation. Same goes the rest.
