The latest V-Jump released some new pages for The Last. It's mostly stuff that we already know... HOWEVER, there is one little bit of info regarding Toneri Otsutsuki, and it confirms that he is, in fact, a direct descendant of Hamura Otsutsuki, brother to the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo, and second son of the rabbit goddess Kaguya

On Narutobase, there is an official thread for leaked and spoiler artwork, including a scan that hasn't appeared on Saiyan Island yet. Check it out in this link.

Also, I checked the Naruto discussion section in Narutobase, and it seems there has been some early screenings of "The Last," with detailed description of the plot. Since we all want to see the movie without getting spoiled until we get the subs, I would highly recommend that we stay FAR AWAY from Narutobase for the next few months or year until the fansubs come out or official subs. We are likely to get dub dvd next year, probably late winter.

Three new TV spots have been released for The Last, revealing parts of the movie itself involving characters like Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Kakashi, Lee, Shikamaru and more!

... Did I just see Bee using some weird futuristic laser cannon...? Best. Movie. Ever.

Imagine if Nagato were still alive. He'd be so damn proud.

Like Shippuden normally does whenever there's a new movie coming out, the current Naruto: Shippuden opening "Silhouette" (Opening 16) received a new animation alongside the two conjoined premieres of episodes 389-390, an anime special focusing on Hinata and Hanabi Hyuga, which ties into the plot of the movie.

The animation contains footage we have seen from past trailers, but also new footage as well, so caution yourself before viewing.

Caved in and watched it. It actually didn't have too many spoilers.

All the NaruHina scenes... Heck yes. Also, loved the action scenes. They look amazing. Even Hinata was taking out those ninja like it was nothing (Not to say she's not skilled, but we rarely see her fight on her own like that). Can't wait until we get the translation!

Ok so the next movie is gonna be canon then.

And about Boruto, cool. Maybe this will be the last movie, althoguh i was thinking if Kishi was gonna do soemthing like this, he'd do it in the Part 3 miniseries he's gonna make.

December's anime schedule is up. Check them out. Some episode titles may contain spoilers.

#391 (December 11): Madara Uchiha Rises (average - good quality)

#392 (December 18): One's True Heart (low quality)

#393 (December 25): A True Ending (average to good quality)

#394 (January 1 or January 8): Naruto's Back ~Friend's Tracks: A New Chuunin Exam (low to average quality)

Episode 394 will be a special. It will take place in the middle of the timeskip of Naruto's 3 year training. This episode will show how Rookie 9 became chunins. Consider this canon. Also, in this episode, we will get a new ending. This time, an American Singer Diana Garnett will be singing the new ending which is called "Spinning World."

In related news, The book series Kishimoto announced has been revealed. They will be written by the screenwriter of Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison movie, with Kishimoto's artwork included. The series is known as "Naruto Hiden" (Naruto Secret) and the series will serve as an epilogue of the Naruto manga, revealing what has happened to the characters and locales at the end of the manga. There is a total of six books. However, we do not know when they will be released.

Book Titles

  • Kakashi Hiden (Kakashi Secret) (hopefully, this book reveals Kakashi's face)
  • Shikamaru Hiden (Shikamaru Secret)

  • Gaara Hiden (Gaara Secret)
  • Sakura Hiden (Sakura Secret)

HELL YEAH, 3 year timeskip shit! Time to see Sakura and the gang EARN THEIR RANK!

Also, I guess the side stories are just focusing on characters involved in the epilogue and not at other points in time of the story. That's okay. It'll be nice to see that stuff play out too, especially with all the Hidden Leaf ninja and Kakashi as Hokage. :P

I did a little searching throughout reddit, and rumors (which may be true) state that for the Chunin Exams filler episode at the first week of January will be a filler ARC. Basically, the same situation as Anbu Kakashi arc, with both arcs being canon.

This means that we will be left with a huge-ass cliffhanger after Christmas. . .

ON CHRISTMAS!!

You know what's gonna happen on Christmas?

manga spoilers

A bunch of boys and girls, men and women, and young teens will be crying tears on a Christmas day (which is supposed to be a happy day obviously), because Naruto and Sasuke will be either knocking on death's door, or actually dead. (in reality, they were just chillin' with Hagaromo)

The studio stated that there will be no fillers this year (Clever little bastards tho. They made a lot of filler content within canon episodes), but they didn't say anything about next year tho.

If you don't want your spirits going down on a happy Christmas Day, I would recommend not watching Naruto Shippuden on Christmas. Just watch it the next day.

Three days ago, a Chinese news website managed to get an interview with Masashi Kishimoto, and we got some details about the mini-series coming up next year as well as some other misc. information about the creation of the series in general.

The biggest thing to take away from the interview is that Orochimaru will be an antagonist in the mini-series, which to be honest, was pretty obvious, so I don't really care too much for this.

But let's go over the other stuff. Granted, this is written in Chinese, and I'm pretty sure the translation I got isn't too accurate, nor is the information itself, but here's what I gathered:

  • Kishimoto was inspired to create Naruto because of a roadside ramen stall he visited. He wanted to write a story about a boy who wanted to eat ramen. He had doubts going into the process but, of course, it ended up being serialized anyway. (Doesn't surprise me.)
  • Minato, the Fourth Hokage's design, was conceptualized by combing Kiba and Akamaru's appearances together. (... Weird...)
  • Originally, there was going to be more missions before the Chunin Exams but it couldn't be done because of the pressure of introducing the bulk of the "ninja world" as well as handling a lot of characters at once on Kishimoto. To help with the second thing, he had his assistant help him draw, and he come up with the concept of Rock Lee based on martial arts styles by Jackie Chan. (I personally love the more missions idea; Also, both Rock Lee and Might Gai are actually both obviously more inspired by Bruce Lee, another martial artist, but Lee's Drunken Fist still is a style most commonly known to be used by Chan, so there's that.)
  • A couple of mentions to Hidan and Shikamaru regarding the anime adaption: Hidan is Kishimoto's favorite Akatsuki, first off, but he also tried to not make Hidan look as intimidating (I guess for the anime, even though I don't really know if he has control over that.) Also, he was told that Shikamaru smoking a cigarette would not be allowed to be shown in the anime, he did it anyway. (Kishimoto living dangerously, as usual.)
  • Jiraiya's death was very impactful, so Kishimoto felt that he should not have been reanimated as it would be hard to think of Naruto's reaction to it. (Something that we as fans already agreed upon when the Shinobi World War arc started, so good.)
  • Sakura's appearance was hard to draw in comparison to Naruto's and Sasuke's; he spent more time redrawing and adjusting her so that she wouldn't turn out ugly. Also, her family was never revealed in the manga due to popularity reasons, i.e. nobody cared. Also, due to Hinata's appearances, as small as they were, gaining more popularity upon her introduction, Kishimoto had the idea of replacing Sakura with her as the main heroine. (Obviously not the best choice in the world, as much as I love Hinata. Also, this assumption has been spread around by fans a lot in the past, so the credibility of this statement alone is still questionable.)
  • Neji's death in the manga was used to help Naruto and Hinata grow closer to one another. (Another obvious piece of information. Really. But of course, Neji fans are butthurt about it, because apparently, all the other reasons and effects of Neji's death that were clearly defined in the manga mean nothing, right? Morons.)
  • Kishimoto doesn't like to draw close-ups whenever Naruto "K.O.s" an opponent because he believes it takes away from the impact. (I actually think the opposite, but hey, different folks, different strokes.)
  • The ending involving Naruto's and Sasuke's arms being severed as their blood mixing together was originally just going to be them holding hands. (Granted, the severed arms thing held a lot of symbolism and whatnot, but still: unlike some people, I'm not opposed to two men holding hands even though somebody of less maturity could start crying "gay" at it, or even start making NaruSasu jokes. Again, morons.)

This guy found the interview and did a video about it. I'm paraphrasing his words based off the translation.

Apparently Kishimoto only had to worry about making Sakura not ugly since the other girls didn't give him an problems. ._. And he's said the Hinata thing before. I'm glad he didn't make her the main heroine, though. Sakura fit that a lot better.

Well, like you said, she's the main heroine. Can't make her ugly.

Well, yeah, but not like he had any issues with other characters. Look at how many guys drool over the other females. :/

(Also I bet Narutobase would argue that she is ugly simply because she's Sakura)

What are you trying to say?

What are you trying to say?

I'm saying that all the other females he draws are considered attractive by the fans, so I just don't get why he was so concerned about Sakura.

Because she's the main heroine. We just said that.

And obviously, it was hard for Kishimoto to draw her without making her look like a sack of shit most of the time.
