If it's your browser saying your computer has malware, it's kind of suspicious

Yeah, I was trying to go on Twitter, and this pop up filled the borwser screen.

If I get some weird ass pop up that won't let me close my browser, and beeps,saying "Attention Windows 7 user: this site has possibly infected your computer with Malware". but then I shut down my computer, and run my virus scanner, which comes up clean, should I just write it off as a bad pop up?

 

Or did I REALLY just firetruck up my computer the same day I got it back?

 

Any help on this would be appreciated....... 

That sounds like one of those 'phishing' type things where they try to tell you you have a virus/malware and then to call a number that's posing as tech support and they try to take your information and steal your identity/money/etc.

I've had those before: one claimed I was being taken to jail for fraud and child porn.

The ad came off a site for disney comics...
