Well, I failed my test with flying firetrucking colours: 27 out of 40 wrong.

study more. They wouldn't give you a test if they didn't prepare you for it. That's not how schools work. You gotta put effort into it.

I obviously can't say anything of how Phil's test was because I didn't see it/take it or how he prepared for it, but shitty tests are a thing lol

That being said, hopefully you're able to talk to your teacher(s) about difficult concepts or getting other study material for next test @Phil. Not going for my professors' office hours is something I do... well, a lot, and I feel like having done that would have helped for some classes

(also hope that you don't have a bad teacher lol)

45% of the test was stuff I haven't studied yet. It's just a base test for the whole book, parts I haven't worked in included. I guess the teacher didn't know that.

It requires effort I didn't put in because I wasn't studying those bits. We study what we're weakest in, which was decimals according to my test scores, so the test had a ton of percentages and estimation, things I haven't gotten to yet.

That's just the rules? you can redo work you failed on, and scrape up a pass, but over four is a loss. 

We don't have "grades" so much as improving your work, and understanding where you went wrong.
