Timeless River time woo

If there's two Petes in timeless river, and the second Pete didn't change his appearance other than his color, how come there aren't two Donald's and two goofys, and why did their appearance change if Pete's didnt

That bugged me too, but Steamboat Willy didn't have Donald and Goofy in it- at the same time Clarabelle, Horace, and the hen weren't in it either yet here they are at Timeless River

 

Logical Answer: Timeless River is bigger than the immediate area you can explore, therefore the past versions of Donald and Goofy are simply elsewhere

 

True Answer: Nomura doesn't care

 

As for their appearance just say Pete's door was different and doesn't alter appearances only color while Merlin's door changes both for those who pass through it
