Day One

 

The Players all woke up simultaneously, finding themselves at the Scramble Crossing. As per the rules of the game, they were required to find a partner, and soon. Meanwhile, they were all sent the same text when the woke up:

 

"Mission: Go to 104. You have 2 hours. Fail and face erasure. -The Reapers"

 

As the Players read this message, a timer burned into their hands, counting down the time until their erasure...

 

Onritsu

 

Onritsu woke up in the middle of the street He rubbed his head, and tried to look around. What's going on...? Oh yeah... I'm in the Reaper's Games... I'm doomed... He thought to himself. "This looks like the Scramble Crossing... So I'm in Shibuya, then... At least I know where the heck I am." He muttered. I need a partner... But who would want to team up with a wimp like me? Suddenly, he received a text. He read it aloud, and was surprised when a timer burned itself into his hand. "Great... A time limit. There's no way I'll do this in time..."

 

Fuki

 

Fuki jumped off of the ground, eager to get moving. "Normally, I wouldn't be so energetic about all of this... But, I have to save her..." She spoke to herself. "Shibuya, right? This shouldn't be too bad. I know my way around here, at least. Now I just need a game partner." She ran through the streets, hoping to come across someone she could team up with. As she ran, she checked her phone, and read the mission to herself. After doing so, she felt a sharp pain in her palm, and quickly noticed a timer. "Great, they weren't kidding about the time limit."

Tsyuki was then transported away from naomi, to a place he wasnt familiar with. he didnt know what to do, but there were three frog like creatures ahead of him, and they weren't friendly. tsyuki took a breath.he noticed something new in his pocket. it was a pin. "what is this?" he said, but on a whim, he held it in his palm and punched. something resembling a spear came out of his punch, not launched, but as if he was holding a spear and jabbed with it. "must be some kind of test." he cracked his knuckles. "bring it on then!" he ran at the nearest creature, trying to provoke it to attack. he wanted to learn its technique. suddenly its tongue launched out like a rocket and he had to jump to the side. "okay, dont let that hit you. tongue equals bad." he kept moving as the tongue began retracting, and went for the direct approach. he leaped up and came crashing down on the monsters head. it didnt do what tsyuki had anticipated. it stunned the monster, but by the time tsyuki was clear of the beast, he was fine. "RIBBIT" he croaked as he jumped at tsyuki. he dodged just in time, and thought, "what is its weak spot? it must have one." just then, the frog croaked again. its sack expanded and deflated, and that gave tsyuki an idea. "thats it!" he yelled. He ran at the monster, which croaked yet another time as it readied its attack, but it was too late. as the sack retracted, tsyuki launched a powerful punch, hitting whatever organs were hidden behind it. the monster fell over, attempted to croak a bit more, and stopped. tsyuki had won.

 

After he defeated the other two. we was proud of himself. "just wait till i tell naomi!" he said, excitedly.

(Sorry, but you can't take down all three. I should have mentioned since some people in here don't know much about the games, but the enemies share their health between dimensions. Killing one of them in one kills it in the other. You need to let your partner take on a few of them, too. Of course, this also means that if one person dies, their partner dies with them.)

Gaku

 

"A test?" Gaku questioned. Before he could think, his partner disappears within a beam of light and Gaku was left alone with three frog-like beings with tattooed legs. "What the hell is this!?" As the first one attempts to attack him, Gaku dashes away from the frogs and puts his hands in his pockets which normally helps him to stay calm. Strangely enough, he felt pins in his pockets and took them out to analyze them. Five pins. An unbranded skull pin, two Jupiter of the Monkey pins, one Mus Rattus, and a Pegasus. What do they do? With an exception of the skull pin, the four pins begin glowing and floating and beamed into Gaku's headphones. Weird. He thought. Gaku put on his headphones and suddenly understands his pin's powers. Physical and lightning powers? Interesting. I wonder how I could use them against those things

 

Not aware of his surroundings, Gaku gets pushed into the ground by one of the frogs. "Damn you! Now you asked for it!" Gaku began to run towards the frog who attacked him and without thinking, begins slashing the frog five times which knocked it back. While the frog is still down, Gaku went in and finished it off with an uppercut kick.

 

"That's one. Now to get the other two." Gaku smirked, but his little victory was short-lived when the two frogs teamed up and used their tongues to tie Gaku down and began pouncing on him. "Aagh! Someone help me!" Gaku yelled. He had no options and couldn't break free of the binding frogs.

 

A voice was heard. "Don't worry, I got ya!" Gaku looked around to find the speaker, but does not see anyone around. However, an interesting phenomenon occurred. One of the frogs gets electrocuted and disappeared into static.

 

Harmony

 

Within an instant, Gaku disappeared within a flash of light, and Harmony was left alone with three frogs. "EEEEEEK!!!! What are those things!?" One of the frogs attempts to claw her face which failed miserably, for she jumped out of the way and did a backflip to create more space between her and the frogs. Good thing I took gymnastics in high school! Harmony took a good look at the frogs before her which are slowly jumping towards her. Are those things really trying to kill me? How am I supposed to defend myself against them? She felt something in her pockets and pulled out four pins. One that has a skull decal, one from Pegasus, another from Dragon Couture and a Tigre Punk pin. Pins? What can they do? Harmony thought, the pins begin glowing and floating which then beamed their way to Harmony's headphones. She took her headphones out with amusement and decided to put them on. She comes to realization of their powers. Lightning and Cure? That's pretty cool. I wonder if I can take them out with these powers. Harmony thought.

 

As she continues thinking, one of the frogs pounces towards Harmony. "Oh crap! I need to stay focused!" Harmony readies herself to attack the frog, but the frog gets knocked back by an unknown force and disappears into static. "What just happened?" Harmony wondered. She then heard a voice. "That's one. Now to get the other two." which followed with a yell and a plea for help. Harmony's eyes went wide. Was that my partner? It seems that he's in trouble!" Looking at the frogs and with determination, she yelled out to her partner "Don't worry, I got ya!" and lifted her arm towards one of the frogs and shoots lightning out of thin air towards the frog which got electrocuted and disappeared.

 

"You alright? Here! This should help! Cure!" She lifted her arm in the air and gets enveloped with green light with the feeling of health being restored.

(oh, my apologies. ill fix that.)

Gaku & Harmony

 

Thanks to Gaku's partner, Gaku rolled in the direction of the other frog binding him and slashed the frog once to knock it backwards, freeing Gaku from its tongue. A green light appeared in place of Gaku who feels very refreshed and ready to continue putting the frog in its place. "Now I feel refreshed, but I can't let my guard down this time." Gaku remembered that her partner has a lightning psych. "Oi! attack the frog on my count with your lightning! We're gonna create High Voltage!"

"Alright! Let's do this!" Harmony replied. She created a little space between her and the frog and pointed her hand at the frog. Gaku does the same as well. 

 

"One. . ." The frog starts bouncing towards the characters at a moderate speed. "Two. . ." The frog bounced once more, and put all its power into its tattoo-like legs in preparation to attack.

 

"THREE!" Gaku yelled. From the respective hands of Gaku and Harmony, The Lightning came right out of their hands and attacked the frog, which burnt it to a crisp and disappeared into static. "The voltage is high with this one." Gaku claimed. Harmony looked at the burnt ground before her with awe and started jumping. "All right! We did it!"

 

From the point of views of the respective characters. A beam of light appears next to them, allowing Gaku and Harmony to appear side-by-side once again. Gaku looked around and was disappointed to see that he was still at the Scramble Crossing. "So that hooded guy wasn't teleporting players. He was throwing them into battles to test their strength."

Naomi froze as soon as she saw the world fade around here, leaving her surrounded by three frog noise.

"Well this is a change in events." she said simply, looking at three noise.

Naomi's golden eye lit up in flames, her blue eye electrifying. (THINK BLACK ROCK SHOOTER).

Just ad Naomi was about to attack one, it vanished.

"Well whatever makes it easier for me." Naomi smirked, shocking one of the noise and kicking the side of its face in a swift strong kick.

She used her electricity to hit some of the frogs vital points, electrifying it into defeat.

There was still another noise however that was not defeated. Naomi figure that out because she was sent flying back by the frogs kick.

"I really hate Noise." she said obviously in some pain.

Naomi was pretty mad, her punching the frog with a flaming fist, sending it back with the shock of her golden flames.

Naomi burned the other noise into crisp.

(forgive me if im doing this wrong, just watched an LP.)Walking together, Soul and his newfound partner found themselves in different dimensions, but not before hearing a haunting message, "Pact confirmed. Time for the test." Three frogs bounced toward him, as he sighed. "Frogs. Really. Can I dissect them and eat them later?"Shoving his hands into his pocket cool-like, Soul found a pin. "The heck is this for?" Suddenly, it dissolved into his palm, granting him a powerful feeling."Hehe.... I'm really feeling it."With a quick dash, he kicked one frog on its hip. With a sneer, he let the second one jump toward him. "Too slow!" he yelled, feinting, then punching it in the neck.

It was weird. Roi could somehow... sense what Soul had done. So he wasn't there, but he still was. ...That doesn't make any sense. Oh well. Guess it's time to fight these things now.

Roi pulled out his lucky card - the Jack of Clubs - and pointed his other palm at one of the enemies. "Lightning!" ... Nothing happened. One of the frogs, seeing what had happened, lunged for Roi. Thankfully, he managed to dodge the attack.

So I can't use my lightning? How the heck am I supposed to fight these guys? He instinctively reached into his pocket and found something else. He fished it out of his pocket to see what it was. It was a small pin - blue with artsy thunderbolts on it. "I guess I'll have to use this then?" He stretched out his hand again, this time with the pin in his possession. The frog just sat there for a moment... and suddenly a flash of lightning eradicated it. It worked! Now able to deal some damage, Roi proceeded to electrocute the remaining frogs. "Alright Soul!" he called out. "Finish them off!"

"Hope you don't mind your tongue being a bit burnt." she said rather mercilessly, burning the 2nd Noises tongue and sending it cowering. 

After rounds of hitting each of the three noise, Naomi was starting to get a little mad.

"I really hate Noise." she said simply, and within a burst of flames and electricity, she defeated the three noise quickly, laughing seeing them defeated on the ground.

Was this really Naomi's true nature? 

Her eyes went back to normal and the calmed down, looking to the sky.

"Tsyuki, hopefully you never see my true heart." she muttered to herself.

(Tsyuki already erased one of the three Noise that you two had to fight. Could you fix your post to mention only two were left? You can still finish them all off if you want. Sorry.)

Soul noticed the remaining frogs flinch in pain. Smirking, he pulled out another pin. In a flash, the teen appeared directly above the frogs.

 

"Waiiiiiit, what the heeeeck!" He yelled, smashing the rest of them with his body.

 

Getting up, he sighed. "That really wasn't cool. I hope no one saw that."

Once Soul finished off the frog enemies (albeit in an uncool fashion), Roi returned to the standard plane of existence. "Well... That was certainly an interesting experience."

He noticed a couple of pins on the ground where their assailants had appeared. Roi walked over there and picked them up. They seemed to have numbers written on them.

"...50 Yen... Hmmm... I guess this has some value, even if it isn't much." As he made his way toward Soul, he nearly tripped and accidentally let the pins fly out of his hand. One of them started rolling away, and before Roi could grab it, it rolled through a sewer grate.

"Well, that's just great," Roi mumbled to himself as he recollected the rest of the pins. "At least we still have these ones." Pocketing the money pins, he turned to Soul. "Guess we passed the 'test'. Although it's strange that we're given a test with no administrator." He looked around for anyone suspicious -- anyone who might be involved in the Game.

Roi's clumsiness elicited a smirk and giggle from Soul. "Out of all the partners....."

 

Soul walked toward a 100 pin, pocketing it. "You missed one. Might want to get your luck checked by a doctor. Wait," he turned his head sideways

"No, I haven't done this before," Roi answered. "If I died once and made it back, I would think that I would be careful not to die again. But in all seriousness, didn't you hear that voice talking about a test when we started fighting? Must've been a Reaper or something. But oh well." Roi looked around to check where they were.

"I think you mean Ten-Four. I don't think we're too far from it. I think it's this way." Roi pointed in a direction and started walking.

After their battles, all Players found themselves now reunited with their partners. "Test complete. You may pass." A voice rang in their heads, and the wall flashed and disappeared. Everyone could now proceed to 10-4.

 

 

"That went a lot better than I thought it would..." Onritsu said, then looked at Aika. "So... We just pass through now, I guess?" He extended his arm out, and found that it wasn't stopped by a wall this time. "We should probably hurry so we don't run out of time." He warned Aika, and proceeded towards the 10-4 building.

 

 

 

Fuki and Rokugo finally reached the tower. Fuki leaned against the building to catch her breath, and looked at her palm. "Hey, Rokugo! The timer's gone! We did it!" She exclaimed. "We've made it past the first day! Just six more to go!" She sat down, grinning.

Rokugo checked his palm as well; his timer had disappeared  too."Well... was that all? On the first day even?" Rokugo snarked, leaning against the building and putting his hands in his pockets. "Shoot. If that's one day, then six more days'll be a breeze... especially since I got myself these bad boys. Heh heh heh," Rokugo chuckled, pulling out and staring as his pin and his lighter.

"Phew. One down." Tsuyki was relived. He was safe for a while. He was reunited with naomi, and was no longer on a timer. "Come on!" He said with a smile. "Lets go to 104!"

Rokugo checked his palm as well; his timer had disappeared  too."Well... was that all? On the first day even?" Rokugo snarked, leaning against the building and putting his hands in his pockets. "Shoot. If that's one day, then six more days'll be a breeze... especially since I got myself these bad boys. Heh heh heh," Rokugo chuckled, pulling out and staring as his pin and his lighter.

"Yeah, this is going to be easy!" Fuki agreed with her partner. She looked over at what he was holding, and was slightly confused. "Uh... You're fighting with a lighter?" She asked curiously. "How does that work?"

"Beats the heck outta me. But I really don't care to know, either. All I know that it's awesome," Rokugo smiled, flickering a small flame on the lighter and just admiring the small flame.

Gaku and Harmony heard a voice that said they had passed the test and are allowed to move forward. Gaku looked at the ground to notice a 100 Yen pin and picked it up. "Money? Interesting." Gaku said. Harmony pulled Gaku's arm and started running as he tries to make sense of what's going on. "Gaku! Come on! We gotta get to 104! I wonder if I could shop when we get there." Harmony said as she pulled the unfortunate boy along senselessly.

 

Reaching the tower, the two musician's looked at their hands and notice the timer disappeared. "All right! It looks like we passed!" Harmony exclaimed with joy. Gaku felt relieved for a moment, but he felt a little off. Something tells me that it was too easy. If this lasts a week, it would get harder from here on. Gaku thought. Gaku looked at the amused girl looking around her surroundings. In addition, we both died in a same event. Not only that, I'm stuck with her for the whole week. Just what am I supposed to do? Gaku pondered.

Well, that's a relief, Roi thought as the timer disappeared. "So, I guess now we can wait for other Players. Hmm... Maybe there are some already here right now..."

"That went a lot better than I thought it would..." Onritsu said, then looked at Aika. "So... We just pass through now, I guess?" He extended his arm out, and found that it wasn't stopped by a wall this time. "We should probably hurry so we don't run out of time." He warned Aika, and proceeded towards the 10-4 building.

Aika blinked a few times as he glanced from side to side. Once she realized that her partner was walking away, she scrambled to her feet as she ran after him, mouthing the words 'Wait for me!'. On the way to the building there wasn't much of a struggle that she could see and realize. She turned to Onritsu before writing on her cellphone and showing it to him. "That was insane! The pins had power and everything and there were these creatures what were they?! Where did you go too?!"It read as Aika shoved the phone screen up to Onritsu's face to have him read it. She was still nervous. She was still a bit confused. But step by step she was starting to put things together, like learning the terminology of a video game or a novel.

(Sorry about the delay, everyone. School kept me busy)

"I guess that's one way to put it..." Fuki sighed, and sat down against the wall behind her. I forgot how scary this guy can be... She thought to herself. She began to gaze around the area they were in. "I wonder if any other players have made it here yet...?" She asked aloud.

She flipped her hand over, then looked up her arm, then her other hand, then her other arm, then inside her shirt, checking every place for any signs of the infamous timer. It was nowhere to be seen. Gone. Poof. Which meant- "(I'm safe?...I'm safe!)"Aika thought as her eyes gleamed happily, throwing her arms into the air as she started to jump up and down happily. If she could speak, she would squeal. She was starting to think that maybe this game wasn't as hard as she thought it would be. But then again she couldn't get ahead of herself. This was day one after all. Which meant six more days to go, and a lot can happen in six days alone. "(If I make it to the seventh day...would it mean that I get to live again? Or go to heaven? Or whatever?)"Aika thought as she got her hand in her pocket and felt the pins inside. They were there for the use of battle yet...it was all so strange. As real as all of this was. It was almost like a crazy dream that one would have after accidentally falling asleep in school or at home on the sofa. She quickly took out her phone and typed into it, only to show it to Onritsu as the message said, 'Thank you'.

Soul noticed a man followed by a girl, but what was more interesting was the choice of words. "I wonder if any other players have made it here yet...?"

 

"Wait for me." he told his partner, running over to Fuki.

 

He poked her nose.

 

"Can. You. Hear. Me."
