So, getting II.5 on Monday was quite the excitement.
After a few hours of playing and getting used to everything once again, since I haven't played Final Mix since the release in 2006, or any type of KH2 of that matter, it was fun playing everything again.
So I started a critical run like usual, and everything seems...harder. Which is great! They upped the difficulty because before everything seemed way too easy for some reason, even being on critical mode.
The looks of everything: Absolutely fantastic. The entirety of Kingdom Hearts II runs very smoothly and it's super sharp and clear for a Kingdom Hearts game.
It shows major improvement from 1.5 (which didn't feel that improved too be honest)
Now. There are issues that I don't like so far.
1. Transforming into a drive form causes a delay of 3-5 seconds before transforming. Now, this could be avoided by simply pausing the game for a second then unpausing causing an immediate transformation.
However, if you get hit during this delay, the drive transformation is cancelled.
2. The lighting errors. Good lord are there lighting errors. I noticed this when I made it to Port Royal, and now I'm in Halloween Town and they're here as well. What it is are a series of reflections of light from the collision textures made when Sora's/Goofy's/Donald's feet each hit the ground. They cause a type of flashing it seems, like the ground is lighting up for no reason. It's very noticeable, and VERY annoying.
3. Fuzzyness. There is fuzzyness with some of the textures, but I still understand nothing is perfect, just something that felt...off.
The loading times don't bug me since they were basically always there just there was no little spinning heart before.
So far that's my experience with Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix HD.
I'll be able to say more about it later when I'm farther into the game.
