What I mean by a spiritual successor is that I think there should be a paper mario game that has similar gameplay to that of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

I know a lot of people who like the thousand year door a lot and even consider it to be the greatest paper mario game ever in their opinion and i'm one of them. So would you like a paper mario game like the thousand year door with the introduction of new elements in the paper mario game? Explain why.

I'd be fine with a new Paper Mario game with any kind of gameplay, although I highly prefer TTYD's over Super Paper Mario. Turn-based gameplay is better for the series, in my opinion.

I agree with you. Turn-based gameplay seems to work well with the paper mario series.

I haven't played Thousand Year Door ("omg your such a bad person shulk how dare you not have had a gamecube as a child"), so I don't really care. I wouldn't mind another game like Super Paper Mario, though. I love that one, and find it to be incredibly underrated. Just because the gameplay is different doesn't mean it's a bad game.

I don't hate Super paper mario because it at least had some sort of RPG element in it and story in it. I hate Paper Mario: Sticker Star because I don't like the gameplay and it doesn't even have a story in it, an element that I really like in a video game.

Sure. As long as it's nothing like Sticker Star. That agme was pure garbage because it had no story, and the fact that fighting regular battle were pointless because instead of getting EXP you get coins. And let's not forget how ridiculous the puzzles were in that game. There weren't even any hints as to how to get past them. And th boss battles in that game was stupid as well. I would really like to see a Paper Mario game that goes back to the gameplay style of Paper Mario64/Paper Mario: TTYD. Those are the two best games in the series.

I agree. I wouldn't mind newer elements that adds on to the gameplay that is featured in the first two paper mario games to make the game even more cool.

To be honest I want to see a new Mario & Luigi with Square Enix helping by bringing back the Smithy Gang.

I think we need a sequel to Sticker Star

hopefully this time it will destroy the video game industry, not just my favourite RPG franchise
