Ubisoft Should Stop Making Assassin's Creed Games

Posted

I can't belive that Assassin's Creed is still going after all these years. I really do like the series, but let's be honest people, Assassi's Creed has really lost its charm after Revaltions. The series really should have ended with AC: Revelations. Before AC3, AC has fantastic characters. You had Altiar who made a very good start to the series. He really helped kicked off to where AC was originally. He was badass, stealthy, and nothing like anyone has ever played as before. He felt completely fresh as a protagonist. Than came Assassin's Creed 2 where they introduced us to Ezio. That was when the series REALLY started to blow everyone's miinds. He proved to be even better than Altair, and ALtair was already a good enough character. Toe the moment when he was born, to when he became an assassin's, to when he found Altair's remains in the library of Masyaf. His story was truly breath taking and is the whole reason why he's one of my favorite video game protagonists of all time. He really had a tremendous story that truly felt emotional. And on top of that, you have the story (I mean mean the actual story from the first AC up to AC3). All that with the apple of Edin, the threat of the Earth being destroyed by a solar flare, and Desmond being the chosen hero who was destined to save the world. And than came Assassin's Creed 3. Boy did that game drop the ball of the series. Hard. Conner was seriously really uninteresting as a character. His character development was not all that great because all he really did throughout the whole game was trying to save his villiage. Heck, his entire story was just flat out uninteresting and full of garbage. Now as for Hatham, I'll admit he was a bit more interesting as a character. But I still didn't like him all that much because all he ever did was go to Boston, have a wife, and than suddenly join u with the Templars. As far as I'm concerned as a fan. The AC series really should have ended at Revelations. Because that was the last good AC game. You see? The huge difference between Ezio & Altair and COnner & Hatham was that Ezio and Altair actually fought for something. While Conner and Hatham just ran around doing whatever it is they wanted to do with no cause whatsoever. And now all that Ubisoft is doing with the series is milking it without even coming up with a good, and emotional story. They're just trying to get every cent out of the AC series as much as they can. It's a shame to see it turn into the next Call of Duty. The reason I don't buy the new AC games because I feel that it really should have ended at AC: revelations or 3.

Wow wow, calm down my friend. I understand your anger about Assassin's Creed but you shouldn't reflect that on Final Fantasy, FFX/X-2 HD and FF XIV are selling very well and the same goes with Lightning Returns. It's true that they made things terrible in XIII but they started improving again. Besides, we both know surely that FFXV will break the other games by it's surprise ;)

And the truth with XIII is that it was plagued with development issues and Square Enix admitted to their mistakes and have made sure not to repeat them.

Lol I wasn't angry. I was just telling off my thoughts and opinions. I was in no way angry about anything. Sorry if you thought that I was.

Well, I thought you were when you started saying that FF, one of your fav games, should've stopped xD

There's your problem. Pick up Black Flag. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

The change from an actual character protagonist to just playing an avatar of you was to address the fact that a lot of people didn't like Desmond very much. I think they're focusing on the wrong problem and that it wasn't Desmond that sucked, it was the writing of the modern day story in ACIII. Though he's kind of annoying in the first few games, he really comes into his own, I think, as the series progresses. It's called character growth, people.

However, playing as an avatar of you means less actual story in the modern day, which means more time in Pirate Land, so it has its perks.

Hmm, I see.  Yeah, a lot of people have been telling me that Black Flag really is something else.  I'll probably pick it up sometime soon, along with Liberation and Rogue. ^^

Well I do like FF. But the only problem I've been having with the series lately is that the newer games aren't as good as the classic ones. That's why I have hope for FF XV because it looks like it'll be a good Final Fantasy game along with Type-0 HD.

Yeah I am looking forward for these two especially since they are action RPGs and they introduce new way of command/ type of story :)
