Nintendo of America:More Amiibo stocks coming soon,it won't get discontinued

Posted

A Nintendo of America representative has reportedly debunkedrumours after reports came filtering in that select Nintendo Amiibo models – such as Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager – would be discontinued. In a bid to quash those statements, NoA’s assistant PR manager David Young has sent notification to fans saying that Nintendo will not be discontinuing these figures and that more are on the way.

Amiibo are fast becoming popular in the US and UK gaming markets with GAME UK hiking up the price and Amazon saying they are currently in short supply. Whether or not this is the case of Nintendo underestimating demand during the Christmas season, or if it’s the case of retailers pulling stock back for select models is not yet known. Though not official confirmation from Nintendo of America itself, David Young’s email has been passed around social media, which you can see below.

“David from Nintendo jumping in here. We have not discontinued any of the amiibo figures. Naturally some are more popular than others, and stores will need to reorder these once they sell through. That said, I don’t know how long resupply will take, so I encourage people to pick up their favourite characters when they see them in this busy Holiday season.”

Thank God the rumors weren't true

That's good to hear. My brother was upset because he never got a Marth amiibo, and those are expensive as heck right now since every store's out of stock.

I'm surprised by how big Amiibo's success was.Sure I knew they'd sell but I'd never thought they'll be sold out that fast

Yeah. I'm also surprised by which three sold out the quickest. Villager, Marth, and Wii Fit Trainer never seemed like the ones that would sell so quickly.

Could be Nintendo not putting a lot in stock, because I totally understand Marth and to an extent Villager, but Wii Fit Trainer makes me think they barley put any of those out there. And called it. Safe to assume the GCC+GGA hasn't been discontinued either.

Maybe...who knows? it can be that they sold out considering all toy collector nuts out there....I mean the amiibos

As for the GameCube Adapter,I think it's safe to assume they didn't discontinue that, though PDP(the makers of the GameCube shapped pro controllers) were annoyed by how the adapter was advertised as the best way to play Smash ..

If only they made the input speeds faster. I heard from reviews there's bad input speeds. I dunno since I haven't tried one out yet.

Okay, that's nice, but where's my Gamecube Adapter?

I need a gamecube adapter

please

It's mostly because they were limited by preorders mostly. Not enough demand, so lower supply ordered.

If not enough demand then why did retailers stated that they were sold out?

And I don't mean those three amiibos specifically I mean all amiibos in general

I meant those three specifically.

demand does not equal sales

if they look at preorders and then a lot of people buy them normally, it would exceed their projected demand

I know demand doesn't equal sales worldwide thank you for telling me the obvious.

I meant sales within the retailer itself cuz we haven't seen any sales figures for amiibo worldwide
