You're paying for worldwide, cross-platform servers. As in someone in Japan on PS3 could play with someone in NA on PC and someone in Europe on PS4.

And patches the size of KH games.

I'm pretty sure he meant the marriage costs money not that the game is subscription based.

You have to pay a fee for your characters to be able to get married due to the perks of it. You get a mount, hairstyles, gear and stuff. It's all in this link on what you get for your money, http://www.siliconera.com/2014/12/09/can-now-get-married-final-fantasy-xiv-realm-reborn

"The Standard plan is for free and comes with the white attire, while the Gold package costs 10 dollars and has the one shown in red, and the Platinum plan goes for $20 and the couple gets the blue outfit. Keep in mind that you can dye garments from both Gold and Platinum Plans, but the Standard Plan garments can’t be dyed.

  • Standard Plan: The entry-level ceremony plan. Includes eternity rings, ceremony attire, a special emote, a special furnishing item, and special hairstyles.

  • Gold Plan: In addition to the features included in the standard plan, the gold plan offers dyeable ceremony attire, a special ceremony Chocobo, carpeting and flower color options, and additional options for the ceremony’s procession and recession.

  • In addition to the features included in the standard and gold plans, the platinum plan offers additional dyeable ceremony attire, and additional color options for carpeting and flowers."

How much is the game $60, plus something, something per month? I mean I've never played a MMO before, but this looks really good... maybe once I get a job I'll get a subscription... I just don't know if I will (or would want to) play this game as much as possible to make the static money taken from my bank account worth the while...

I see it for like $20 in Australia regularly.

Ah, didn't know that.

Yeah that's what I meant. I wouldn't mind paying sub for FFXIV tho, but I already play WoW so yeah.

This is why you should get it on PS4 cause if you pay for FFXIV you don't need to pay for PSN.

Don't you need to pay for psn to play multiplayer games on the PS4?

I have read that you don't need it only monthly subscription for FFXIV.

That's up to the developer. For FFXIV, you do not.

That's up to the developer.

I thought you needed PS+ for online gaming with the PS4.

That's up to the developer for each game. They can choose to require it, or they can choose not to require it.

The PC version on Steam goes for about $20 and the PS4 version is roughly the same in some places. I personally bought my copy on PS3 from Amazon for £8, the game isn't as expensive as some might think. The subscription depends on the location but I know that if I am subscribed to it then it costs me something like €12.99. If you buy the game new though you do get 30 days free, so you don't even have to subscribe right out of the box if you don't want to :P

Yeh for the most online games yes like assassin's creed or fifa.

Just checked again so you don't need ps plus for FFXIV.
