This is my theory on what is going to happen in the next game and my theory for the whole series. This is my opinion and I am more than welcomed to debating and discussing the validity of theory. But what I want to say first and foremost is the King Mickey is an idiot! How did he miss that Ansem's apprentice Xehanort has the same exact name as his primary enemy and that he looks almost exactly like Terra! One of the friends who he is looking for. So many problems could have been avoided if not for the stupidity of King Mickey in my opinion. That is the first big plot hole in the game that I wanted to address.

 

Now for what I believe will happen. I will start with the rescuing of Aqua, Terra, and Ventus. I have seen many theories involving Terra and Xemnas and Ansem Seeker of Darkness, and when it comes to Terra and Apprentice Xehanort I believe that Xemnas and Ansem will have no effect on rescuing him. I believe that Riku will be the one to rescue Terra. I think when people talk about Xemnas and Ansem they refer to what happened in Dream Drop Distance when everyone met but what they don't realize is that everyone there is from different periods of time so when we get back to the present time period because Xemnas and Ansem SOD have been defeated like what happened with the rest of the members of the Nobody version of Organization 13 Apprentice Xehanort or Terra-nort which I think is a better name will also return. So with Terra-nort back it opens the opportunity for Riku to defeat him and begin the fight for Terra's heart. A fight which Riku and Terra will win.

 

The next person to be rescued in the game will be Aqua. Most of the theories I saw state that it will be a team of Sora and Kairi going into the Realm of Darkness to rescue Aqua but I do not believe that is what is going to happen. Although this takes me to my next plothole that confuses me. How is everyone and their mother able to go in and out of the Realm of Darkness except Aqua! Riku and Mickey escaped the Realm through Castle Oblivion which Aqua created!!! But either way Sora and Lea will be the ones to get Aqua out of the Realm of Darkness in my opinion with some possible help from Roxas. But I think Roxas will not have a major role in this game like so many people want.

 

Now once Aqua and Terra are rescued the quest will be made to go and rescue Ventus. Aqua, Terra, and Sora will go through Castle Oblivion to rescue Ventus and once they find him, since Aqua is the only one who knows where he is, Sora will be able to give Ven his heart back. And once Ven is back I believe that we will never see Roxas again. I don't believe that it is possible for Roxas and Ventus to co-exist. Because Roxas is Sora's nobody but with Ven's heart.

 

And now with Terra, Aqua and Ven back Mickey has his 7 guardians of light: 1. Mickey, 2. Sora, 3. Riku, 4. Ven, 5. Terra, 6. Aqua, 7. Lea/Kairi. Part of me thinks that it might be Kairi because I wouldn't be surprised if something happened to Lea during the game. But don't ask I don't really know what that will be.

Riku was pulled out by either Ansem or DiZ, it's not made perfectl clear, but it's suggested that he ended up in Castle Oblivion because Sora was already there. Mickey simply follow him

     They wouldn't build up Roxas being saved from his hurt if it wasn't going to pay off. Besides, Roxas grew his own heart

     Kairi makes a much more logical choice for being a light, considering her heart is made of pure light. If something happens to Lea, that's kinda hilarous honestly, because  he;'s evaded death like 3 or 4 times now in this series

 

So, I'm not really sure about this theory. Frankly it's really just a theory about the order things will happen in. Nothing really explains how visiting Disney worlds will factor into this. So first off, I highly doubt Terra will be the first one to be saved. He's an important part of Xehanort's plans, and beyond that freeing Terra first makes him dead weight for the rest of the story.

Now unless some other plot point comes up, they do have to save Aqua before going after Ven, unless that shot of Sora getting the Master Keeper keyblade happens independent of Aqua. Either way, it seems Ventus and Aqua will be saved somewhat early on, since the unreleased trailer tells us the Land of Departure is a world, and that can't coexist with Castle Oblivion. Another problem with saving Ventus later is that he has an impact on gameplay. Without Ventus' heart, Sora will lose the ability to dual wield. As such he probably needs to be saved before any major gameplay elements are introduced

Though it's not really clear exactly how much focus will be given to saving these three, never mind characters like Xion or Namine. Sora's main story is him Donald and Goofy searching for a keyblade, which explains the Disney worlds. How everything else fits into that remains to be seen

This is roughly what I think will happen as well, but I do wonder if Donald and Goofy go with Sora and Lea. If they do, it'll be a group of four (and later five), which seems like a lot. And if they don't, what are they going to do?

 

I'm also wondering what Kairi's job before the final battle will be if she doesn't join Sora or Riku.

 

Furthermore, I wonder if Ansem the Wise will be involved in some way.

 

Finally, Roxas probably will play a larger role than you think, since KH3 will finish this saga, and not dealing with him (and Xion) would leave a massive plothole. 

 

Oh yeah, Mickey may have briefly seen Terra-Xehanort, but he never met Terra, so he wouldn't have made the connection.

First, hatok is right, mickey never really terra, but he DID meet xehanort. wasnt hethe one that injured him before ven confronted him, telling him everything? of course i could be wrong. were left assuming it was him. it couldve been vanitas.

He met never SAW Xehanort, and a year or so later met a guy and his assistant showed up for thirty seconds who had the same name. Even if Mickey had a theory about it, that was at least nine years ago and nothing happened

Yeah, I think so too and honestly small things like this don't really bother me that much. The story is getting more and more complicated with each game so it's not surprising that small things get overlooked by accident.

Mickey had no connection. He never met Terra, he never met Xehanort. He met Terra-Xehanort. He only knew him at the time, but once the course had been set with Ansem SoD, Mickey spent his time in search of information on the whole being behind it. Mickey's first encounter with the true Xehanort was during Dream Drop Distance.

 

As for some of the other things in this theory alone, Roxas grew his own heart over time, as did every other Nobody, Xion, and Data Sora (who won't be a thing outside of the connection he has to the real Sora and that connection really just sends the message of acceptance of hurt to the real Sora). I believe Sora will have to release his own heart again to release Ven's. Doing so will also bring about Namine, Roxas, and Xion (most of which will not appear in Sora's location and will need to be found as well). Sora will still have to mend their hearts as well though.

 

Saving Aqua from the RoD, also means saving Ansem the Wise, by the way. I have no clue how this will work, but Sora is the key to everyone's birth by sleep (no, I didn't do that just to fit a title in, that is literally what all of the hurting characters are waiting for according to Ansem the Wise) so the answer lies within him.

 

We still haven't a clue who all the Guardians of Light are, but I'm 100% sure that Kairi is one, thanks to the title of the Dream Drop Distance secret ending that was mostly about her.

Sora isn't one, because again, he's an ordinary boy fated to be a hero. Giving him a position such as that, doesn't really make him so much of an ordinary boy anymore (hence the reason they even made it valuable plot that Sora didn't earn the Mark of Mastery or become a true Keyblade Master). It's why him not changing much has been a thing ever since Kairi told him not to to ever change in KH1.
