Stardustblade358 806 Posted January 12, 2015 Grim gave a light shrug. “I can tie Miguel to the bed and make sure the gloom doesn’t touch you while you try to heal him. After a plan is figured out if it is needed, I can isolate myself in quarantine until we know that this gloom won’t affect me as terribly as it has affected other people.” Grim said as he pulled off his scarf and walked over to Miguel, wrapping the scarf tightly on the gash of his arm. He didn’t had a first aid kid. There wasn’t exactly a need for it. He helped ghosts past back and forth, and anything violent usually was below him to not land a single scratch. He tied the scarf tightly, the white material slowly turning crimson and black. “That should eventually stop the blood, but if you can get it stitched it can help a lot.” Grim muttered. He turned over to the group. They had to come up with a plan. “I can ask for father to give you guys some advice or lend you help. He won’t be willing to come to the mortal world, but due to the casualties he could know more of the gloom than us, and maybe he can lend some help.” Grim said as he went ahead and sat in a corner of the room, using the tissues to wipe the gloom that dripped from his eyes like tears. Aoba thought. “Our main concern is stopping him from ruining Christmas and keep him from trying to kill the rest of us. We could be in danger alone. I wouldn’t suggest for us to be left in less than groups of two, that way there will always be someone there to help if you are attacked. We will have to find a way to…subdue our crazy friend before he causes any more long lasting damage. Other than that, we would have to actually try to keep a watch over him somehow to keep him from creating anymore messes.” Aoba suggested.
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted January 14, 2015 "Mi amigo would never do that!" Miguel proclaimed proudly. He knew his scythe riding partner in crime would never give into Gloom. If Miguel didn't, Grim wouldn't. He watched as Grim bandaged his arm with his own scarf. Miguel loved that scarf and now it was tainted with blood, oh well. Miguel had a thing for dressy accessories. His favorite was his own favorite red tie which currently was dirty with blood and Gloom... Mierda. Grim said something about being tired to bed and Miguel protested. "I won't attack Varmill or anything. Just use gloves or something." Nick ran a hand through his hair. Varmill had a point... So did Ash. He really didn't want to talk to Santa; Nick was basically dead to him and vice versa. He thought for a while. "I... I can't talk to him. Let's just focus on protecting myself and Aoba for this season."
Stardustblade358 806 Posted January 14, 2015 Grim was feeling the gloom press against his chest from the inside. Run across his veins along with his blood, aching as if acid was mixed into it and trying to burn his skin. When Miguel got infected with gloom it was never this bad. Maybe it was because Grim was different. He was son of Death himself and his powers alone could make him evil. People fear him. Humans fear him. To say his name means the unavoidable pain known as death. No one likes him. At least no mortal. No one wants to die. But it's his job, and in the end, he can only hear the begging of souls to be returned back to life when he cannot do as such. The gloom could be targeting such thoughts, to make him more of what the masses made of him. He didn't want to hurt anyone. Not his friends. He was as gentle as the spirits he helped pass on. He doesn't want to verify the fears that humans make of him being a monster. "I'm not..."Grim muttered, not really paying attention as he felt his forehead. Fever. He hated fevers. He brought up his knees against his chest, resting his head against the wooden wall, his sweat tainting the wallpaper. From his pale skin his veins stood out in a dark color, showing the gloom that now passed though his body. He felt tired. This day was simply not a good day. Was he...cold? The Grimm Reaper never gets cold! "Aoba and Nick need to focus on their holidays. They are coming up soon, we cannot have them stopped. I'll quarantine myself until I know I'm not dangerous. If I am, I'll call father. He'll take me somewhere I won't hurt anyone." Grimm said, concern in his voice. Death would most likely lock him up in the deepest parts of the underworld, much where he spent his 'childhood' as a spirit. When he was born out of tradition and myth, he couldn't control his powers, and accidentally caused deaths of people too early, poking their souls out, making them follow. Death kept Grim locked away for years until he could control his powers and be allowed back into the mortal world. If Death could keep control of him once, he could do it again, surely. Naegi 149 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) 'Protecting Aoba and..Nick..' Deep down, Ayano knew Nick and Grim were right. Their first priority was to make sure the gloom doesn't mess with the upcoming holidays. She took a glance at the Grim Reaper. Usually, Ayano would call him an idiot for purposely getting infected with the gloom, but she pity him. She already seen some of her bunny workers get infected by it and the transformation was horrifying. "Are you sure you're going to be ok? Maybe Miguel could do something." Her ears drooped a little in worry. - - - - - Newgrange, Ireland. Clover sat on top of an ancient tomb staring up at the sky with a bored expression. He was suppose to be looking for the other holidays, but he wanted to kill some time. Waving his hand, a flute appeared out of thin air as it landed into his grasp. Ever since he caught the gloom, he was able to summon this instrument, and all his abilities including his luck increased drastically. Putting his lips on the plate of the flute, he blew into the instrument as a loud, yet enchanting sound echoed across the meadow. With his fingers automatically moving to the right keys, the enchanting music continued as nearby tourists gathered around the tomb, curious about the sound. Smiling to himself, he switched to a different tune as the music slowed down into a lullaby. Soon, one by one each tourist fell asleep as they collasped unto the floor, snoring. Parting himself from the flute, Clover smirked as he jumped down. "This flute is pretty powerful, having the ability to make humans fall asleep really makes this alot easier," He kneel down next to one of the sleeping humans with a tone of insanity. "Now," Clover reached his hand to the human's head. "Entertain me." Edited January 14, 2015 by Naegi
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) The varmill looked at Miguel with a warm grin and clasped his hands together. "Oh. Good, good!" He hopped over to another room and grabbed what looked to be rubber gloves. He skipped to Miguel's side. "Don't worry. My songs reach across all of Ireland! Dr. Patty's ready to help!~ I don't think we need ta' tie you up. However, i-it might sting a lil'...", he stated. With that, the varmill placed three fingers on the area of Miguel's heart, and used his other hand to put slight pressure on one of the cuts on his arm. The varmill took a breath, closed his eyes, and begin to quietly chant a small melody. ~Hear my plea, Quietly. Please seal these wounds infliced on thee. Let his soul clean the holes of all the pain he might hold.~ After his little song, Miguel's wounds healed up. "There we go!" The varmill carefully took the gloves off, turning them inside-out so that the small smudge of Gloom didn't touch him. He held both of them with his thumb and index finger cautiously. "Now, where to burn these?..." Edited January 14, 2015 by Hargleblargleboo
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Miguel sighed happily from Varmill's healing. "Gracias." He still felt pain from just the overall ache from the fight, but that isn't a big deal. Grim started to talk about being locked away. "Oh stop being so dramático Guadañia." Miguel said with a small chuckle. Guadañia was a nickname Miguel fondly used for Grimm sometimes, meaning scythe in Spañish. He sometimes call Grimm Guada for short. He lazily rolled out of bed and plopped himself right next to Grimm with a loud grunt. Oh did it hurt like a little puta, but the soreness would go away eventually. Miguel was Dia de los Muertos for Juan's sake! Ayano already gave Miguel an idea. "Sí, Ayano. I might be able to help him. Guada isn't going to do anything bad." Miguel slid out a knife from his pocket, a small pocket knife and sliced it into the palm of his own hand. He did the same to Grimm, all while muttering a quick apology. Miguel pressed his new laceration to Grimm's allowing the blood to entwine and enter Grimm's body and vice versa. "Now, since I was able to control my perfectly fine, maybe my blood will help you control yours... If that doesn't work, I'll still be able to sense any negative feelings you may have. In other words, if you're about to go loco, I can sense it and help you relax. Just think of it as 'Miguel's Spidey-sense~'" Miguel knew very well of Grimm's childhood, at least most of it. Being the Day of the Dead, you kinda knew everything about Death and the Grimm Reaper. That's how you can even proceed with the holiday after all. People die, Grimm takes them to the after life, and brings them back for the Day of the Dead. That makes you close since the day you're born. "Now..." Miguel cuddled up next to Grimm. "Let's keep ya warm, sí?" Nick sorta paced the room for a bit. He felt freaking weird as hell from the Varmill's aura. He felt unlike himself... In a good way. Usually he was just drink and pissed off. Always annoyed, especially by Miguel, and wanted to punch everyone in the face. He hasn't felt like this in a while... Christmas cheer. Maybe Nick should call his dad... Nah. Santa would hang up as soon as he heard Nick's voice. He watched as Varmill healed Miguel and the exchange between him, Ayano, and Grimm. Nick reached out for Varmill"/ gloves. "I guess I can throw it out...? We could burn it in the fireplace..." Actually maybe he shouldn't touch the gloves. Wouldn't want to get infected with Gloom right next to Christmas Eve. "Yeah, use the fireplace. If that's okay with Grimm." Nick said. Kingdom Key D 160 Posted January 14, 2015 Aurora frowned as she walked through the city. Dublin had changed a lot since she had been here last. She was beginning to worry that she might get lost. After a few minutes of searching, though, she found her destination. The holiday almost wanted to skip as she walked through the shelves, finding her books. There was something magical about being in a library that destroyed and rebuilt it's roof so that it could fit more books. 'Yes, it is quite fantastic," the voice in her head agreed. Wait... The voice in her... 'Saturn?' Of course it was possible that she was simply imagining things but- 'In one guess. Impressive.' She pulled a book on neurology off the shelf. 'What other voice would be in my head?' 'Well, you could be going insane.' A book on psychology. 'Am I not already?' A book on the renaissance. 'Good point.' 'I thought you were dead...' A more general history book. 'I was. To a degree. Actually, it was more like floating in outer space.' Aurora set the books down. 'And you came back how?' She questioned the voice inside her head. 'My hypothesis is that I was called back by the chaos or the gloom. It does match my holiday.' Saturnalia replied. 'But you aren't-' 'No, not infected anymore.' Aurora set down her huge stack of books and nodded. 'That's good. Do you want to provide a second opinion for my research?' She put one of her notebooks, the back up plan, on a table near some other books, a distance away from her. This book would serve to ensure that the other uninflected holidays and entities found her research if she was... Apprehended. It contained her notes mixed in with pages of fluff so that it would seem insignificant. On the back it said "if found, please return to Nick Aurora" followed by Nick's phone number, to tell him that it was from her. The younger holiday was not always on top of things, but she trusted him, and knew he could take care of this if she could not. Satisfied, Aurora sat down and began to read her neurology book. 'I have already decided that the gloom resides primarily in the brain and affects the rest of the body from there.' She informed Saturn. 'Yep,' her self inflicted other personality agreed, 'otherwise you would not have been completely cured when our minds separated at my death.' 'Aye, and then there is how it affects the mind. Impulsive action, violent reactions, poor general emotion control. Prefrontal cortex. Anxiety, grudges, habitual actions. Anterior Cingulate Gyrus. The most concerning is that gloom might be altering the Temporal Lobes. It would go a long way to explain Kuro's and Clover's actions, but...' Saturn read over her shoulder, 'Control of memory, object recognition, mood stability, how emotions tie into experience and memory... Holy crap! Even if we do find a cure this could cause serious lasting damage.' 'And I was not affected because you trapped most of the gloom in your part of the mind.' 'And I died, so we have nothing to test it on. Oh dear.' 'I have tried exploring medicines that could aide a persons brain for long enough that their immune system could fight off the gloom,' continued Aurora, 'but it seems to affect everyone differently, like how your emotions were enflamed and mine were dulled.' 'But that means...' 'Yep, every individual would need a different cure.' 'But there is no way you could keep up with how fast the gloom spreads!' Saturn protested. Her host sighed, adding to her notes. 'I hope we can find a better solution.' (Sorry, a bit long, but hey, I did my research. I actually did read a lot on the topics I listed. And my conclusion is that it looks hopeless. Please tell, Master Aqua7KH, how on earth are we going to get out of this? Magic? ) 1 Aqua7KH reacted to this
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) The varmill tossed the gloves into a nearby fireplace and walked over to the others. "It'll be just fine, Ayano. I-If Miguel says he'll be fine, he probably will be.', he smiled. "And...you guys are right. We need to stay and protect Nick and Aoba. Ooh! Speakin' of the season...". He rummaged throught the hidden pockets of his scarf and pulled out small boxes. "I-I meant to give these to everyone after the meetin', even the infected, but you all saw what happened..." . Inside the boxes where little charms made out of glittery granite. "It isn't much, but...I do what I can." He gave one to Lucifer. "Oh, and Lucifer, don't be so grumpy! Or do ya' want me ta call ya' 'Lucy Fer'? " He teased. "'Tis the season, after all. Have a lil' joy in that soul for once, yeah?" He pulled out the last of the gifts, but stared at two particular ones. Aurora's and Clover's. He sighed. "I hope they're okay.", he thought. "N-no...WAIT What am I saying?! I hope Aurora's okay! Not Clover! Ugh. I just need to let it go..." He was still a bit confused. Edited January 14, 2015 by Hargleblargleboo
Stardustblade358 806 Posted January 14, 2015 Me for the rest of the roleplay, I think --- "I don't mind." Grim purred. The fireplace actually sounded like a good idea. Watching what Miguel did, Grim watched in amusement. The two of them were connected by the theme of death. It was inevitable to not see each other. "...you had a knife this whole time and you didn't use it against the skeletons?" Grim asked before laughing brightly. Just the irony of using the knife now made him smile. "...thank you, Miguel." Grim said sincerely, lowering his head a bit. He could sleep a few minutes. Naps were always good. Suddenly, a sharp pain. Grim gasped for air at the feeling. He knew that feeling. It always felt like a prickle of a needle. It was quick yet painful. It was a way to make sure that such mistake wouldn't happen again. That something was out of schedule. "...sh*t." Grim hissed as he reached into his pocket and flipped the pages of his notebook to the correct page. As he reached it he could see a name being crossed out on it's own, a date and time of death appearing right next to it. "This can't be right, she's meant to graduate this year." Grim muttered. Another prick. "Ah!" Another. Two more names crossed from the list, their times of death only separated by seconds. Just as quickly Aoba yelped, looking down at his jar and taking out three small marbles. "The resolutions!" Aoba freaked out. The usually brightly colored marbles started to become dull, small cracks appearing on them. Grim hesitated, but quickly read out loud. "Andrea Rocecrant, aged 18. Gio Rocecrant, aged 47. Hanna Rocecrant, aged 46. Cause of death..."Grim read as his eyes widened. The same word was repeated next to the names. "...gloom..." As Grim finished this, Aoba's marbles shattered into pieces. Aoba cried out in pain, his hands pulsing. Resolutions were broken. Because the dead cannot do resolutions. ... By a house, April stood while staring at her mess. In a classical prank of a falling piano, she had used the gloom to affect the luck, having the piano lose its balance from its crane and fallen on Andrea, killing her instantly. Her parents came running down frantically, to which the gloom had Gio fall down the stairs and break his neck, and Hanna to get run over by the crane operator after the gloom damaged the breaks. "This is funnier than I expected!" April smiled with laughter. Usually souls aren't visible to other spirits and holidays unless with the blessing of a being responsible of such. But this was different. The gloom had infected their souls, turning them into mindless soldiers, unable to pass on. Unable to willingly cross over. "But I'm getting some awesome new people by the end of it so it totally rocks!" 1 Aqua7KH reacted to this
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 15, 2015 The varmill snapped his head up when he heard Aoba yelp. He didn't hesitate to put Aurora 's and Clover's gifts back into his scarf and carefully walk over to the child's side. "'Ey 'Ey 'Ey. What's the...matter?..." He just stared at the dulled marbles in awe. He heard Grim say something. Something about the gloom being the cause of death to these humans. "W-What?..." Just then, the marbles shattered in Aoba's hands. "Aah! Oh, you poor child!" He hopped in front of the kid, and wrapped his scarf around his hands to sooth any possible discomfort. He snapped his head to Grim in panic. "A-Are you meanin' ta' tell us that the gloom has gotten so bad that it's KILLING humans?!?", he shouted. "Nononono! W-W-W-What are we goin' ta' do?!" He was really starting to panic, putting his hand on his face and breathing shakily. "You don't think it was Mercury? Jack, he wouldn'tdo that, would he? O-Or maybe Kuro, Shiro, Clover? Who?? What?? WHY?", he screamed. The varmill hoped his panic didn't scare Aoba too bad.
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted January 15, 2015 (Key the holidays will overcome this Gloom with the powers of fire, water, earth, air, and love! Nah jk but seriously though your research is so impressive and I'm just like so happy that you did that and it's giving me like extreme happy feels Like ;v; And LOL Star yes) Nicolas caught the charm that Varmill passed to him. He was actually very flattered that Varmill made a charm for him. Ironically, it was probably the first present he had gotten in years. All of a sudden, Aoba began to freak out, and Grim grimly (see what I did there) read the names of deceased humans out loud with the cause of death being Gloom. He cursed out loud, pacing the room. "Are you serious right now? This is because of those damn Gloom'd holidays!" Varmill's aura began to wear off. Great. Now all Nick wanted was a cup of spiked Eggnog. He was about to continue in his sudden rant, but his knees buckled and he collapsed to the floor with a loud thud. Miguel laughed aloud. At Grim's comment about the knife. "I was throwing some of my knives, but you told me to relax right before you carried me like a princessa." He watched as Grim felt pain and chaos erupted. Miguel tried to calm down Grim, Aoba, and Varmill at the same time. He felt the pain a little bit due to Grim's blood. "PATTY!" Miguel shouted, a nickname he called the Varmill due to the Saint Patrick's Day name. "Calm down! Calm down! Estás loco?! (Are you crazy?!)" He tried to hold Aoba, but the Varmill already went to do that. Miguel looked down at Grim's book and tried to peace together of what was happening. "The book doesn't say what /exactly/ killed them? We have to find out if it's one of us!" Nick suddenly collapsed, next. "Dios mio!"
Stardustblade358 806 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) "Well **** everyone's dropping like flies now aren't we?" Grim muttered with a scoff. He gripped his scythe from the ground, using it to stand up as he separated from Miguel, the gloom pulling back from Miguel and back into Grim's body. Aoba looked over at Varmill. "I'm alright. Thank you though." Aoba muttered. This wasn't the first time that a resolution was broken. But three at the very same time was more painful than what Aoba expected. Seeing Nick faint, Aoba only freaked out a bit more. "WHAT HAPPENED TO NICK IS HE DEAD?!" Aoba asked as he looked over to Nick. "He's not dead. I can still feel the bastard's heartbeat go doki doki." Grim mentioned as he held his scythe. He couldn't stand by. He had work to do. "I can't feel the souls. I need to go. I need to find out what happened. I need to find the souls." Grim muttered, forcing himself to stand up, despite feeling dizzy. He breathed. "...I'm calm." Grim commented, looking calm despite how terrible he felt right now. "I think Nick has just handled a bit too much along with his hangover. You're all welcome to stay here as long as you like. But I have work to do. I need to find out what happened." Grim said as he walked over to the door. He stopped and looked over at Miguel, smiling at him. "Be careful while I'm not around you save you, ok "Princess"?" Grim teased. WIth that he walked out with not much of another word. Every step felt like stepping on glass. He spun his scythe and jumped onto it, taking off into the air. If this was a holiday's doing, it wouldn't be lasting long. Not under his watch. Aoba whimpered as he looked down. "Everything's getting so scary..." Aoba muttered as he looked down at Nick. "And christmas is in 24 hours!" Edited January 17, 2015 by Stardustblade358
Kingdom Key D 160 Posted January 16, 2015 'That took a while.' Saturnalia was complaining again. Aurora sighed and tried to think of some way to shut Saturn up before she gave her a headache again. At the same time it was nice, one of her best friends had been returned from death. Or stasis, the term death didn't fit. Shelving all her books except a helpful neurology one, Aurora gathered her materials. On instinct, she decided to leave her second notebook behind. The other holidays might find it helpful. She would have to contact them soon, so they wouldn't worry about her. After checking out her library book, Aurora left. 'Finally!' Exclaimed her mental tenant, 'so, where are we going?' 'Newgrange. I forgot some supplies.' 'It's been ages since I visited there!' Saturn sounded excited. 'How is the place holding up?' 'It looks great, considering it was built in the Neolithic age.' They continued conversing over the last 1600 years events until they were only two miles from Newgrange. 'Is something wrong?' Saturn questioned. 'Just a feeling.' Aurora was not sure, but there was a pit in her stomach like something bad was about to happen. 'We had better go somewhere else,' Saturn cautioned 'last time you told me you had a bad feeling, I didn't listen and got us infected.' 'No, it will be fine. Probably. But if something is going on, we should see if we need to help.' Aurora opened her bag, shifting past the books to find a wrapped up bundle. She took out the pieces and folded her scythe back in to shape. 'Woah!' Saturnalia shouted, her worries forgotten momentarily, 'fold up scythe! So cool!!!' Aurora smiled 'I have been learning everything I could about new technology and science since my creation, I really would be an idiot if I couldn't make my weapon smaller.' They began flying again, with the Winter Solstice ignoring her companions warnings, and slowed down as they reached Newgrange. Naturally, they found Clover as they walked up. 'No way! How could they find me this quickly...' Aurora was confused. She had been on pretty ok terms with Clover, and never stole from him or anything. Why would he come after her first? Maybe he was looking for Varmill? Saturn was on another thought pattern. 'He is infected? Ok, we need to get out now!' 'No, we have to help the humans! It is our duty to protect them from gloom!' 'Aurora, I am really sorry about this.' 'Wait!' That was the last Saturnalia heard as she forced her host to the back of their mind, taking control of her body. Immediately, her features began to change slightly, her hair and wings becoming more red and purple, and her eyes shifting from light to dark blue. Saturn took a step back, away from Clover, holding the scythe ready in front of her. "Who are you, and why are you toying with the mortals?" She demanded, while thinking 'I am one to talk... But I will ask for Aurora.' (Sorry guys, I just murdered realistic time difference... But I didn't want to ignore Clover. And Aqua... Fire, water, earth, air, and love... Yep, they are doomed. But thanks, I am glad you enjoyed my research!)
Soul Eater Evans 4,045 Posted January 16, 2015 "......." Lucifer shoved the charm into his pocket, holding in his anger. Lucy Fer? Naegi 149 Posted January 16, 2015 Ayano felt her blood boil as Grim mentioned the names for the people that just died. "Those little.." Putting the charm she recieved from Varmill in her pocket, she was about to leave the cabin with Grim, until she heard a thud behind her. Turning her heels, she sees Nick lying on the floor. "Ugh! How pathetic can you be?!" Dragging the male by his arms, Ayano carried Nick onto the couch. "Aoba's right though. Christmas is coming up so I think some of us should stay behind to guard Nick and Aoba." - - - - - ((Is it ok if he just calls you Aurora and not Saturn? O_O)) "Hm?" Clover turned his head to see Aurora in a battle stance. He had his hand on his third victim who was just an adult man. For some reason, Clover was avoiding the children. Getting up from his position, the entity put his hands in his pockets as he said, "Oh, you must be Aurora. Of course a holiday such as yourself wouldn't know who I am. I'm Clover, the Leprechaun." He gave her an innocent smile but it vanished as she questioned about the mortals. "Are you talking about these selfish creatures?" Clover kicked one of the unconsious humans, "I'm just giving them what they deserve; but before you ask me about that.." He took a step forward. "To think that an uninfected holiday would just come up to me, now that's just luck!"
Kingdom Key D 160 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) (Of course! But I will use that to make things confusing... ) "Aurora?" Saturn started thinking out loud again, as her counterpart wasn't answering, "Oh, that makes sense, people of this time period wouldn't know that we can switch off. You said your name was Clover... Yes, actually, she did mention you just before we got here, but then, Aurora has been collecting all the information she could get her hands on in the last three thousand years. She probably knows at least a bit on everyone by now." 'Dang it. Probably should not be giving information to the enemy.' Saturnalia reprimanded herself. Uninfected? Then she remembered the reason she had taken over in the first place. "As delightful as this talk has been, I should get going. Places to be and what not. Please, do enjoy repaying the mortals, they haven't had to worry about me for 1600 years, after all. From what I have seen, they've gone soft." She knew Aurora would hate her for that, but it was true. She never liked humans before, and some things don't change even after 1600 years of stasis. Plus she needed a distraction . Such a remark coming from a notoriously pacifistic holiday might do the trick... ? 'Saturn.' Great, Aurora was back. 'Please protect those people. I know you think they don't deserve it, but these humans can't protect themselves. They need us, it is our duty to help them, and if you have a speck of sympathy left for them, or for me, you won't ignore that.' 'Fine, but if he gets too close to infecting us, we are leaving. Saturn readied her scythe and took an offensive stance , letting Clover make the first move. She wondered what her opponent would think of her rapid change of mind. Stupid idealist. (Edited to make things easier for Clover, because it is almost impossible to catch a flying runaway if you can't fly.) Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 16, 2015 The varmill's hyperventilating started to slow down when Miguel shouted at him to stop. He called him Patty. The varmill uncovered his face and let go of Aoba. The cute little nickname usually made him calm down. "S-sorry...I-I didn' mean ta' get a panic attack like that." He blushed, embarrassed by his outburst. He sighed and looked over to Lucifer. "W-Well, Lucifer, m-maybe you can hitch a ride with Grim if he'll let ya'. Oh, and sorry for makin' ya' grumpy. I-I didn't mean to. I-I was just teasin'. ", he apologized. Suddenly he heard a thud. He turned around and saw that Nick has collapsed. The energy from his necklace began to wear off. "Oh, Nickolas!", he shouted. He followed Ayano to the couch and responded to her remark. "Mm Hm. You'd be correct, lass. I'd be willing to stay here. Stardustblade358 806 Posted January 17, 2015 Grim landed where his senses guided him. With the gloom now in him, he could actually feel that gloom was responsible for this. He looked down at his cut. Miguel was concerned for him, and truthfully, he was concerned for Miguel back. The moment he found out that Miguel had contracted gloom he was that close to drag Miguel down for quarantine into the underworld, in order to keep an eye on him as much as possible. However Miguel took the gloom surprisingly well, which left Grim glad. His concern for him being around un-gloomed people was not only the spread of contamination, but that there would be a quarrel out of the worry of gloom and they would go after him in general due to the gloom. Now he had to worry for the two of them, and the rest with these villains appearing. These people going crazy on gloom. He really hoped they wouldn't lose their sanity to gloom like the others. "(If he can feel my pain, maybe I will be able to feel his?)" Grim thought as he felt around his neck. He'd need to get another scarf. Surprisingly enough, Death had a hobby of knitting besides watching over the souls of the dammed and of the free, and would knit Grim lots of sweaters and scarves. He was actually helping Grim work on something for Miguel for Christmas. But don't tell him I said that. "So you're the one who's been messing with my schedule." Grim muttered, turning as he saw April walk around with the souls following her. Usually souls are transparent, light colors. These were opaque and dark. They were contaminated. "I didn't think you would mind, compared to the rest of the world. Besides, you're contaminated in gloom too." April said as she crossed her arms with a smile. Grim scoffed. "I'm stuck with Gloom to stop the other troublemakers from ruining everything. We may be infected with the same sickness but you mess with my souls and I am going to slice you down. No one will miss April Fool's anyways." Grim said as he kicked his scythe, having it spin on his arm before catching it. With a click, a second blade appeared on the other side, making it a double edged scythe. April didn't back down, releasing her arms to reveal chains and shackles, her trademark weapon. "Bring it on, Grim. I've been contaminated longer than you have, and it's obvious that it's taking a toll on you. How long can you fight it before the gloom either overtakes you or kills you?" April asked with a laugh. Grim spun his scythe before attacking. ----
Naegi 149 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) ((Sorry for making you wait >_< and Kingdom Key D, if you want, you can make Aurora somehow manage to escape or defeat Clover but piss him off more. O^O)) 'Why was she talking in a third person point-of-view?' That was the first thing that processed in Clover's mind. And not only that, but just as Clover thought Aurora was going to fly away, she took a battle stance instead. "Tch, first you were leaving and now you wanna fight me? You're quite mysterious Aurora...unless it's someone else." He took out his flute. "Well it doesn't matter, you said something about researching information. Are you looking for a cure to the gloom?" Suddenly, the whole scenery: the giant tomb, the people, the whole area started to change into a different setting. Soon, Aurora and Clover were on top of a cliff. The sound of waves could be heard crashing from the side. Despite it being an illusion, it felt real. "If you are looking for a cure," For a split second, his eyes showed a small hint of yellow like someone else was talking. "Then I can't let you just fly away can I?" Just as Clover(?) said that, he blew into the flute. The same lullaby was playing and drowiness filled the air. Right off the bat, it's impossible to use the flute to make a holiday fall asleep; however, it makes their body slow down in a tired state. As Clover continued to play, the ocean waves crashed against the cliff except this time, the wave towered over the cliff like it was being controlled and crashed into Aurora. Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) "Wait let me go with you-" Miguel reached out for his hand to follow Grim, but he was already gone. "Damn." He muttered "Why does he have to be so fast?" Miguel started to snicker a bit at Nickolas' fainted body. What a freaking p****. "I'll be fine, Patty... I just gotta rest for a bit. And I agree with la bonita~ It's best for us to stay here. You too, Lucy." He said with a snort. Miguel leaned back on the floor and stretched his legs. Maybe a short nap couldn't hurt. He was exhausted after all. "Right now," Miguel began. "We have to wait. We can't go look for trouble." Suddenly, Nick's cellphone began to ring, and ring. It played a little tune of Jingle Bells. Miguel rolled his eyes. "Should we pick it up?" He asked to Easter and Patty's Day. Edited January 18, 2015 by Aqua7KH
Kingdom Key D 160 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Saturn was slightly perplexed as Clover reached for his flute. It might be difficult to defeat a scythe with such a small scrap of metal. Then the surroundings changed, and Clover started speaking again. 'Sorry Aurora' Saturn really did feel quite bad about giving their opponent too much information. 'It's fine, they would have found out soon enough anyways.' They started paying attention just in time for Clovers eyes to flash yellow. 'DID YOU SEE TH-' 'Yes. Three main possibilities come to mind. 1- that is something that happens when he uses magic. 2- he is like us, two minds in one body. The worst is 3- the gloom has become so strong in his mind that it can actually possess his body.' 'Well dang. That throws a bit of a wrench in your research.' 'Focus.' Aurora reminded her, just in time for a wave to come crashing down. 'Well great,' thought Saturn, 'how am I supposed to fight with a scythe under water?' 'It is a wave, it will end, but... Something is not right. I didn't feel that, but I normally would feel anything that hurts you while you are in control.' 'What?' 'I am picking up powerful interference in the optical lobe, and in parietal... An illusion, then, over sight and touch. Just keep fighting until I can figure out how to break it.' 'But I can't move as fast as normal...' 'I think it is a part of the illusion. Try not to let him know that we know, this might be our only advantage.' 'Right.' Saturn ran forward as fast as she could, using a stroke of her wings to increase her speed to about normal for any other holiday that had not trained their speed as high as she had. Using the momentum she had built, Saturnalia slashed at Clover from above, the side, and then diagonally. Having a weapon with long reach really helped when avoiding contact with gloom. Meanwhile, in Trinity College, a librarian picked up a journal sitting on an abandoned desk. 'Someone must have forgotten this,' she thought. She returned to her desk, and dialed the number on the back. "Hello, this is Trinity College Library, Dublin. Am I speaking with Nick Aurora? You seem to have forgotten a notebook here, today." Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) The varmill gave a nod to Miguel. "Okay, Miguel. You go and relax. And don't worry! Grim will be just fine! He knows what he's doin', I'm sure He wouldn't take ya' to a place where you'll get hurt again. Makes sense because you two are so very close, and now even closer from what I've seen today. What with him carryin' ya' like a bride and all!", he teased at first, but then gave him a reassuring smile. Then the varmill heard the sudden melody of Jingle Bells from Nick's cell phone. The varmill gulped. It was possibly a VERY grumpy Santa Claus, or just Mrs. Claus. Miguel asked Ayano and the varmill if they should answer it. "W-well goodness. If it's ol' Santy, he probably already knows what we've been up to, so I don' think we should keep our lil' adventure a secret. And we should ask Nick if we can answer the phone for him...but that's just me. W-What do you think, Ayano?", he asked her. Stardustblade358 806 Posted January 19, 2015 Aoba looked down at the ringing cellphone. The tune was nice, but considering the situation they were in, it was extremely ironic. "Screw asking permission! We have to answer, what if it's the other guys who are worried about us, or Mr.Santa Jr.?" Aoba asked, looking down at the cellphone and gently picking it up. "I'm going to put it on speaker, that way we all can hear." Aoba said. Truthfully part of answering the phone was to just have the terrible music to stop playing. Without much warning Aoba flipped the phone open, answering and pressing the speaker option. "...Hello, Nick is currently unavaliable um...who's speaking?" ... Fighting music Clashing metal echoed. Grim slammed his scythe against April, who countered with her chains, using them to block the attacks or even wrap the scythe around with it and try to pull it away from Grim. April pulled hard as she pulled Grim towards her. Grim flipped and gripped his scythe, spinning it so the blade would head straight to April's neck. April quickly let go of Grim's scythe and bent down, dodging the blade of the scythe. Grim landed on his feet as he spun his scythe once more, dashing at April with speed. April quickly pulled on her chains, the three tainted souls standing now infront of her as a shield. Grim stopped on his tracks, the blade of his scythe just at the verge of slicing one of the souls. He couldn't possibly do that. If he were to kill a soul, the souls would disappear forever. Much like a spirit or holiday when they die. There would be nothing left. They would just return into the void of nothingness. Not only that, but if a soul were to disappear into that Void, the memories of that soul would be sent into the void as well. Everyone who once met this person would completely forget. Only pictures to wonder by. "What's wrong, Grim, can't strike against them?" April teased. No. He couldn't. Not against those he swore to protect. Grim lifted his scythe, backing away. "What do you wish to gain from this?" Grim asked. April paused. "I'm wondering that myself. I've never been good in the head anyways. But now with this gloom...what's to stop me creating the best of pranks? It's not a fun prank unless someone gets hurt." April smiled. "Don't you feel it too? The whispers in your head. The gloom whispers...it speaks." Shivers went down Grim's spine. Before he could speak once more, the souls started to attack him. April waved. "Bye bye Grim. Have fun!" April said as she skipped off. Grim blocked the attack of the contaminated souls. Their fingers turned into claws as they attacked at him. Loud whispers came from the spirit's mouths. Multiple voices speaking rapidly. "Please, I cannot, I wish to not harm you!" Grim said as he blocked the attacks of the souls. He loved souls. He loved humans. Even as he was death, he loved them. If he slashed them with his scythe, it would be all over for them. They would never get a chance to reunite in the afterlife. He jumped, dodged and ran. He didn't want to hurt them. Watching as the souls attacked once more, Grim made a decision. He held his staff, tapping it against the ground, letting the souls attack. The souls dug their claws and teeth against Grim. The sound of ripping flesh and bites echoed as the souls hanged onto grim like lions on its prey. They bit against his skin, clawing at him as if trying to consume him and his essence of life. "Bring us back!" "Give me life!" "Give me your life!" Naegi 149 Posted January 20, 2015 ((Pssttt, the third guess is correct..)) Clover didn't move as Aurora flew toward him with her scythe slicing through his body like clay; however, the Clover she attacked was just an illusion as the fake Clover melted into the floor. Suddenly, the angel could hear the green entity's voice from all sides. "If my guess is correct, I bet you're trying to figure out how to break out of this illusion, am I correct?" A dark chuckle echoed around the area. "Well, since I'm such a nice kid, I'll tell you how..." He paused. "...catch me. And I mean the real me, not some puny illusion." After he said that, hundreds of Clover wielding a dagger rose from the ground. "Though I'd advise you to be careful, one slice from that dagger and the gloom will enter your body." Another laugh. "Or should I torture you first? I would like to see a holiday scream, and I would loveee to see Varmill scream, that would be lovely!" There was a long silence before he finally said. "Now, try to catch me like those horrible holidays did..if you can." Just as he said that, the hundred Clovers advanced toward Aurora. Is the real Clover hidden with his other illusion selves? Or somewhere else? - - - - - Ayano's ears twitched uncomfortably. Before she could respond to Varmill, Aoba already picked up the phone. 'Something..is wrong. My ears are picking up very disturbing noises...the biting of flesh..' As she continued to listen, she could slowly hear heavy breathing coming from someone. Shaken by what she heard, she turned to the group. "I-I just heard something, I think Grim is in trouble."
Kingdom Key D 160 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) (Dang it, Naegi! Guess three was supposed to be a worst case scenario! D: ) Saturn might have started freaking out a tiny bit when Clover melted. Then he started speaking. 'Dang it.' Aurora exclaimed, 'he must have been able to tell that I was pushing at the interference.' 'Yeah, that's great, but we have to find him among all these replicas.' 'Don't bother. He almost definitely isn't there. There has to be another way.' 'Ok, but hurry.' Saturn paused before thinking again 'The replicas can infect us? That shouldn't be possible.' 'Four guesses. One- he is lying. Two- the illusions are made from gloom abilities, and thus infected. Three- They are actually modified gloom monsters, concentrated gloom molded to look like Clover. Four- our mind has been trapped in an illusion by Clover so nothing here is real, not even our movements. If that is the case then we will be standing paralyzed in real life, and are almost sure to be infected regardless of what happens. Let's cross our fingers that that isn't the case. Actually, I will start looking over our nervous system to make sure nothing is disconnected. Anywho, we can probably get out with a time limit or a distance, try flying up. As far as you can. If you get far enough the illusion will break, either because it is not extensive enough to cover that space (option 4), or because Clover can't sustain this powerful of an illusion from that far of a distance.' 'You got it.' Saturn shot upward as quickly as she could, ignoring Clovers taunts. The librarian smiled as someone picked up the phone. She had worried that there would be another unclaimed item in the library's rapidly growing collection. "Hello, I am a librarian from Trinity College. Will you tell Nick that he forgot his notebook here in the library?" It sounded like there were many people there, she hoped she hadn't called at a bad time.
