It had a filter on the top screen that makes the vision of that screen turn 3d if you choose to do so. 3DS games will have a tab on the side so they can't be played on any previous ds system. There is a switch on the top screen's right side that lets you turn off the 3d effects. It also has an analog stick like the psp's do. the camera is on top of the top screen instead of the middle bar. Hope this helps a bit for you.

For more information check wikipedia, gameinformer.com, and google. (Okay probably not google but gameinformer had like a three-five page article on the thing.)

The 3D thing isn't on or off, its adustable. So it can be in the middle, middle of the middle and end, anywhere.

it has a stronger graphics chip that are on par with the gamecube, it is superior in almost every way to the ds, except it doesn't play gameboy games

Basically the most awesome handheld to date.

Wait, you can't play 3DS games on a regular DS or DSi? Aww, what?

It is an entirely new system. The 3DS games are far superior to DS games in how much they hold, graphics, have 3D, etc. A normal DS/DSi couldn't handle it. A DS playing 3DS games would be like a GB Color playing a GB Advanced game, not possible. However, 3DS can play normal DS games.

Aw, darn it! I have to buy yet another system to play KH. Coded better be worth it. At least you can still play old games, though.
