Is there anybody else here who feels that PSP games look kinda weird on an HD TV screen? I mean, both Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix feels so weird to see on my HD TV. Yeah, I know that they were originally PSP titles that got an HD port but still. It looks kinda akward lol.

Well you were so used to seeing it at 480 x 272 pixels with a 4.3 inch screen. Now it's in 1280 x 720, upscaled to 1920 x 1080 on a TV that's anywhere between 20 to 55 inches.

It is a little strange. But like Sora96 said, we are used to seeing it on a much smaller screen.

Not really. It just feels kinda weird seeing on my HD TV even though it got an HD remaster.

It's an FOV thing (and probably a colouring issue to a degree)

Handheld games tend to give you a much more condensed screen, since limited pixel density means zooming out can lead to things not being actually visible to the player. Games with good graphics on handhelds also tend to achieve said graphics by limiting what the game has to render through the use of a zoomed in camera

Throw in giant art assets required so you can properly read/discern them, and the intentional use of bright and contrasting colours to ensure things don't blend together

and well

you can see why this can lead to problems on a bigger screen
