I need help with final boss!(Ven's story)

Posted

I can't beat the final boss for Ven's story! It's always the second phase where I get killed!

I'm on critical mode, and about level 30 and I really don't want to grind but if I have to, I will. I also have Second Chance, Once More, and only 1 Hp boost.

If I have to grind, what is the best way? I don't know how to create Mega Flare, or Fire boosts or Attack/ Magic Haste... >.<

And what place should I go if I want to grind? >.>

All you need is 2 ars and at least faith or salvation. Then in the 2nd phase of the fight is nothing but button mashing. I finished vens story on critical around level 35. My favorite grinding spot is outside vestibule at the collesium if you really wanna grind. Just spam mega flare or salvation and run back forth to re spawn enemies.

As far as how to create commands I believe theres a post someone where on this site or go to gamefaqs and look at the command list on how to create abilities and which crystal gives you which boost

I don't know about level grinding, but I've found that Olympus Colosseum works great for leveling commands. The Vestibule has a save point and a Moogle, and the area right out side of it spawns a ton of enemies. I've found that I leveled up pretty regularly while doing this (to the point where I equipped EXP Zero so I wouldn't get too overpowered), but I'd bet there's a faster method. I beat Ven's final boss between levels 32-35 (can't remember exactly) on Critical mode, so I don't think you need to level up very much.

Here's a good site that has Command Melding information (even tells you which abilities you can get). I think it's based off of the original version, not Final Mix, but I've not found any terrible inconsistencies. Basically the only difference I've found is that some commands now need to be higher leveled (basically, just get the Crown and you should be good).

Mayby Tornado's but you need to be very fast for that I actually though it wouldn't work :P.

I meant the Final part of the final battle guys x.x

Every attack he does hits hard!

here let me answer this i just finished a critical playthrough wit ven using waywardwind and was lv 19.  the strategy is simple u either spam ur shotlock or darkspiral and then press the nessacary buttons.  and then finish wit the last word finish command when the gauge is filled up and dash if needed.  also ur shotlock blast doesnt need to be maxed as long as it collides wit vanitas's move.   whatever u do dont use dark splicer it is way too risky

Yeah I would agree with rosco258.

The thing is, the last word command doesn't show up becuase the gauge keeps going down and he keeps using Dark splicer... >:(

Oh, sorry, I overlooked that part. :(

It took me forever to get passed that part as well. Here's the strategy I was using when I finally beat it:

Never use dark splicer, only dark spiral.

Dodge roll far away from him, then use dark spiral. Just continually do this until the command gauge is filled.

When he starts to use his Shotlock, counter with yours. You don't need the maximum lock on, just make sure you get yours off before you get hit by his.

Once Final Word appears, lock on to him, get close, and hope it hits (I missed with it 4 times before I finally won).

The only way to get the gauge filled is to keep countering his moves with your own and winning those clashes. I'm pretty sure Dark Spiral or the Shotlock will counter his Dark Splicer. I know I only ever used Dark Splicer myself due to mistake. That's really the only help I can give, and that's the only help I found when I was looking (and I looked a lot, I hated this part of the battle). :/

I think I might be able to beat him now... but I'm not sure...

How do people do this on level 1!? x.x

at level one man i have no idea.  but besides the strategy i suggested u will just have to have ur wits about u. i never get hit at this part anymore.  and i simply use the strategy i proposed to u earlier it just takes patience and a good eye

So what I learned about this boss is that it's all about timing. So basically don't mess up or your chances of winning will decrease

So let's start, the move you both have are dark splicer, dark spiral, and since I don't know the lock on I will call it dark beam. You should never use dark splicer, that move will get him started with his splicer, and that's a fight you can't win.

So the two other moves are the counterable moves. Dark spiral and dark beam, you can counter both of these with your own spiral and beams. So this fight will begin with one of those you counter them based on what you do. So if you spiral spin anolog if you beam mash X. so after that he will use splicer, just dash away, after that he will stop now is where you get ready to end the game. He will stop splicing, what you should do then is counter him and after he counter attack him, get him in a combo and then back up, and get ready to counter again, repeat, if by some of chance he splices use your splicer for 3 hits and then stop. You will kill him fast if you do this. By the way level up at least to 36 it will work out better.
