IF Sora finds another way to Dual Wield. (and I stress "IF")

Posted

Okay so, I firmly believe that in KH III we will be limited to one Keyblade. We know Sora has Synch Blade as an effect of harboring Ven's heart, so logically when Sora wakes Ven up, we'll no longer have access to that ability. But others think Nomura will come up with a way for him to retain it even after that happens. And, while I don't think it will happen there is a way for him to do just that within already established facts. Nomura said that, for the short that Sora and Roxas where simultaneously active, Sora's Keyblade was existing in two places at once. Nomura could decide that because of this unique situation, he may be able to summon two copies of his own Keyblade.

Now, IF , for the sake of argument, this where to happen, I think we should have access to Synch Blade in Normal Form. Nomura's reasoning for that not being the case in KH II was because he didn't want the players to be forced into constantly dual-wielding.
I call B.S. on that. He could have given us the ability to Dual Wield in Normal Form without being forced to do it all the time by making Synch Blade an equipable/unequipable Support Ability for Normal Form (The fight with Roxas would have been the perfect time to give us that ability, or after getting Final Form the level 7)

So, IF Nomura decides to keep Synch Blade around, I think that's what he should do.

I hope I stressed the "if" part enough.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if this explanation turns out to be canon. Summoning two copies of one's own keyblade? Leave it to Nomura. Besides, dual-wielding is one of Roxas's trademarks so it'd be weird to see him without it.

I wish they had gone with the explanation that Sora summons a second Keyblade with the help of his friends' hearts instead of trying to work it so deep into the narrative.

Square Logic dictates that KH3 will have dual wielding regardless of the situation going on with Ventus and Sora's hearts being connected. Nomura will find a way to make it happen, trust me. Drive forms and dual wielding were the most badass of aspects in the combat system of KH2, it only makes sense that they'd bring it back in KH3

dude your name has me rollen LOL

They'll probably come up with some last minute explanation such as "Sora has grown so strong he is able to manifest two whenever he wants now" or "A Growth Ability of having Ven's heart and leveling it up to Level 7 gave Sora an ability to use two in normal form" or something.

DDD, Xehanort says that nobodies do develop their own hearts. If the explanation for dual wielding before was that two hearts of people who could use a keyblade in one body= dualwielding ability, well... Of course this explanation only works if Roxas stays inside of Sora, which would be sad.

It could happen...

My way Roxas gets to come back.Besides Roxas never summoned his own Keyblade.

What was the point in giving him a second keyblade again, to explain why he was able to use one in the first place? Didn't he steal Riku's keyblade because he had a stronger heart than him? If that's the case, why give him another keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 2? He wasted a game explaining this, correct me if I'm wrong this shit isn't easy to remember.

Well, if you want to know his thought process, he added a second keyblade to add more versitility to gameplay, then had to explain it in a story copacity. He likely had a vague idea for BbS then, but bot the whole thing. I wouldn't call that game a waste though. That would make every game after it, including KHIII a waste as well.
