Who reckons everyone should be able to delete their own posts in all forums?

 

This could prevent less spam/double posting, this would also mean people wouldn't have to report their posts saying that they doubled posted by mistake or posted spam or don't want that post anymore. It would also assist the mods a bit too.

 

Just an idea.

Though it could encourage people to spam, with the knowledge that they can delete their posts without anyone ever knowing ~ ?

It seems to be a good idea indeed, but being a basic idea at that makes me wonder why we never had the option in the first place? Or that it wasn't thought of before?

This seems like a good idea. Sometimes I post things and I doesn't come out the way I mean but, eh.

It's not really good, because some people may go back and delete posts just because they feel like it. This may ruin old threads, which won't make any sense with these posts missing.

True, but it helps the mods out a bit. And if someone double posts by mistake or something else it could be used in a good way.

 

You could post a thread about how to use it properly, DChiuch.

Well how did you program it so you could only give out a certain amount of Rep points in a day?

Couldn't it be possible to work that same method in?

No not really RoxSoxKH, its true you can make people only give specific amounts of rep a day and all that Rep stuff, but you cant for deleting posts. You can only make it so you can delete your own posts all the time. Not for just a day for each post or something like that.

 

Yeah i didn't really explain well, but you can't make it so you have a time limit for deleting posts.

But yes it is possible to make it so you can delete any/all of your posts any time you want, but you cant alter that. That i know of. Someone would probably have to make a Mod or Plug in.

And, if it's for the site's greater good... then wouldn't making such a plug-in be worth it?

Its not like its easy to make a plug in, it takes a lot of time depending on what it is.

Plus DChiuch has better things to do then make a plug in, its just no worth it.
