March 21, 201510 yr Can you play this without playing the other games in the franchise? I would play the first two games before playing... I haven't played God of War 3 but you would have a better understanding of the story if you played GoW 1 + 2. I think there's an HD collection on PS3 you could try.

I think there's an HD collection on PS3 you could try. That's right, there are 2 HD collections on the PS3. One is GoW 1+2 and the other is GoW: Chains of Olympus and GoW: Ghost of Sparta. I have all the games except Ascension, So I don't need to buy this. Right now I'm waiting till they announce the new one. As for now my favorite is Ghost of Sparta.

Yeah, the only two I have played were the original PS2 ones... I've wanted to play the PSP ones so was hoping that they would make a collection on PS4 with all 6 games but, alas, that seems like wishful thinking. At least I'll be able to play GoW 3.
