Funny thing, Axel was supposed to die very early.

I wouldn't be worried about that in KH though. I mean, it's close to impossible for a character to truly die.

Me with Zancrow. The guy was the perfect rival to Natsu and had potential for future plots, etc but nah, let's one shot him via the strongest Mage.

If fictional character deaths affect you like that, I suggest that you don't watch or read Akame Ga Kill. I didn't take my own advice on that one, though.
