The Final Fantasy series has ranked an impressive 9th in the 2015 Classic FM Hall of Fame. "Not another video game entry!" Um...it seems some people don't like that it's there.

I know, right?

I don't know about everyone else but my most favorite classical music comes from video games and anime.

So does mine.

It's mainly those snobby people who think classical music should be limited to the likes of Beethoven and stuff. Every time video games get recognised on the list they constantly blame gamers of sabotaging the votes. I think their issues lie with the medium it comes from rather than the actual music. It's really stupid.

Reminds me of the guy who bought a whole lot of amiibos because he thinks certain female Nintendo characters are hentai, but we do not speak of him. Anyway, why can't people just appreciate the music? THEY ALL FORGOT ABOUT DA MUSIC. I quit the band!

Sadly the folks who listen to Classic FM aren't your average young person or stereotypical video game fanatic. That is why some folks are being very ignorant towards it. They don't like the medium and refuse to see video games as a place for any artistic value. Or at least that's how I see some of the complaints to be. :P

You mean, congratulations to Nobuo Uematsu. The others aren't even mentioned. He is the one who carried the FF franchise's music all the way to FFIX... It's pretty obvious they aren't talking about the other composers. Sure some of them are good, but only to VG composer level. Uematsu and Shimomura are in a league of their own.

Ummm, Masashi Hamauzu is an amazing composer and him an Uematsu are close. Look at Masashi Hamauzu's resume.

Yes, however that doesn't mean FF is at that spot in the list because of him. It's clearly because of Uematsu. And afaik he only worked on the choir in One Winged Angel  as far as classic FF goes. He worked on X, the XIII trilogy (something I don't find memorable at all and completely different compared to previous FF OST's.) And he worked on Dirge of Cerberus which isn't even part of the main series.

First song they listed is from FFX. :P

Which was composed by Uematsu. Thus my point still stands.

Thus the point you hate modern day Final Fantasy stands clearly.

I hate the XIII trilogy and X-2. I like XIV though and look forward to XV. Doesn't mean I hate modern FF. Not every title in the series can be amazing.

Then why are you excited for Toriyama's game? Lol?

Because it might be X-3. From what we've heard so far if it gets made it might be more like X than X-2. Assuming the combat system is like X's then I'll probably love the game. If it's anything like XIII then no. But we don't know anything about the game yet, I'm mostly excited because it's a main console game which seems to be an FF game. He made a game in the past that I liked, doesn't mean he can't do it again. I just have to hope until it gets announced that it will be vastly different from XIII.

It won't be like either X or X-2. Or XIII. Did you play XII's sequel?

Revenant Wings? No. That was for the DS wasn't it? Are you saying his new game will be like that? How are they going to do that for the PS4/XBone?

Yes it's on DS. Oh, no god no. It'll be nothing like that. I am simply asking since he directed and wrote it.

I see. Well anyway, the thing about it not being like X(even though I liked that), X-2 and XIII is something I like. Means it's going to be something new.

Then they don't know what they're missing out on.
