Hello! I was thinking early this morning, when do you get to fight the secret cloaked boss in bbs. I have seen most of the cutscenes in bbs, so I have a pretty good idea of what time frame things happen. Okay so this is what I think, Nourma stated that one of the developers couldn't beat him at a level 99. So that means that your character must have beaten the final boss. So you know that save point before you go and beat the final boss. Well I think you save there, (i'm going to go with aqua right now.) Okay so when Aqua takes mickey to yen sid, and finds out that master Eraques is dead. She then goes to the land of deperuatre and goes to see for herself. (the land is not all covered in darkness at this point, only the palace. Then she goes and finds the secret boss. That's when I think it happens.

 

(Then agian remeber she could have also gone to the keyblade grave yard. So I think it preety much makes sense??) Either way, you still can fight the secret boss after the graveyard battle.

Aqua fights him in the LoD.So even after you finished the original 'final boss'(Ven and Vanitas fused) in Aqua's story,people who have finished the jap version will get a surprise when they think it's over hehehe...

But the boss is in LoD which was COMPLETELY destroyed after Eraques was killed. Plus it cant be in the Keyblade Graveyard either because that is where the Vanitais LS is. My best guess is the Mirage Arena because that's the only way you can play in LoD after it's been destroyed. However, Nomura also said you fight him twice so he could be at the Mirage Arena and (possibly) The Keyblade Graveyard. So maybe ;]

I'm goin' with that. It might just be like the Gold and Platinum matches in KH1 and he's the only enemy.

I don't believe any of the ones who tried could beat him. And after being defeated, they didn't want to fight him again. But because they all lost, they generously...added another health bar for us :|

Well, just by looking at the starless sky, you can see that LoD's destruction had already taken place. However, the entirety of Land of Departure was covered in darkness when Xehanort destroyed it. It'd make no sense for only that small section of it to be affected. I'm thinking this battle happened later on in the timeline...

True but still think. Why would they do that? Why would they put a cutscene in one place then put the boss in another? They didn't do that with Ice Titan and Sephiroth in KH or with LS in KH2FM+. Why know?

The location varies in the Mirage Arena. Even though you're in the MA, the internal setting can change to appear as other worlds.

 

It is possible, but like I said before, it's unlikely for a canon boss to be in an optional world that has nothing to do with the plot.

That translation raised a lot of controversy within the fandom. Here's a more accurate version:

If it took place during the main storyline, it would conflict with a lot of things. I actually think this battle takes place during the Last Episode, during Aqua's long ass walk from Castle Oblivion to....wtf Radiant Garden?! Anyways, while this is unlikely, it is possible. An area left untouched by the darkness, the same area we see Terra and Ven sitting in during the secret ending, possibly.

I am thinking this battle takes place more along the lines of after Aqua arrives there at the last episode but before she seals the keyhole. The setting is obviously in the destroyed land of departure because there is a starless sky and you can see the destroyed castle in the distance. It definitely wouldn't be before the last episode because Aqua acts very surprised when she sees it then.

 

A cavern of remembrance sequence to get there would be neat but I am not sure how there could there could be enemies seeing that the unverse are gone.

 

Also Aqua didn't walk to Radiant Garden, and the Terra Ven scene was mostly symbolism.
