While the music in a game is not necessarily a make it or break it part, when a game has an awesome score it makes the game that much better. One of my favorite examples of this is the Halo series or the Mass Effect series. They do a great job of capturing the emotion or mood of every moment of the games. I am curious as to which games you guys think have scores that stand out?

Assassin's Creed, particularly 2. Great unique ambient music for each city, and arguably the best track in the world to listen to while free running:

Really? I have to be the one to say it? Seriously, this wasn't your first example? Fine........

Journey, I felt like Journey had a pretty great score. Another one that comes to mind is the Legend of Zelda series, I feel like it also does a pretty good job of having memorable and also very fitting track selections for its games. :D

I'll be honest, I almost like Journey's music better than the game itself =P.As for good scores, KH obviously, and I'm quite partial to the inFamous series and it's creepy grunge aesthetic. And you can't go wrong with the Pokemon games.

There are a number of games I've played with an excellent score. Not including the Kingdom Hearts series, I would have to give special praise to:

>Journey, the soundtrack to this game was the stand-out part of the game. 'Apotheosis' was truly remarkable.

>Entwined, the game aspect to this was very hit/miss, but the music and visuals were absolutely amazing. 'Forever Apart' was a great way to start off the game.

>Xenoblade Chronicles, this goes without saying, but the score behind Xenoblade is phenomenal. It is impossible for me to highlight one track... Have an 'Unfinished Battle'.

>World of Warcraft, I thoroughly enjoy the score to WoW. 'Nightsong' is easily my favourite piece.

>Transistor, anyone who played Bastion knew what to expect in terms of a good score, but I actually think Transistor takes the edge. Much like Xenoblade it is impossible for me to highlight a single track, unlike Xenoblade I'm going to name two excellent pieces in 'Forecast' and 'We All Become'.

Now I only named 5 games, but games like Secret of Mana, Pokemon and for cheating sake Super Smash Bros all stick out in my mind too. There are definitely one or two games that I am criminally forgetting, but that can't be helped! D:

I'm gonna go with LittleBigPlanet. Just picking up tons of bubbles increases the multiplier like crazy, and it's so rewarding when I get JUST enough bubbles to get those prize bubbles in LBP2. It goes in the MILLIONS!! (That's a lot of points when it comes to LittleBigPlanet!)

Oh, wait, you're talking about MUSICAL scores?! Man, I couldn't tell...

Haha I know what you mean! Sometimes I feel like replaying the game just so I can listen to the music from it again. :P I mean the game itself I hold in a high regard already, but the music was just exceptional, in my opinion.

Alright then, my favorite videogame MUSICAL scores are (not in any order):

Tales of Xillia. The battle themes are what draw me to it!

Super Mario Series. Super Mario Galaxy had easily the best soundtrack. No doubt.

Yep, Xenoblade Chronicles. Can't go wrong with that. :)

Kid Icarus: Uprising. Magnus's theme is now my favorite song from that game.

Professor Layton series. That puzzle music though!

Digimon World Dawn/Dusk. A few songs in particular were my favorites. Here's one I love hearing:

And no need to put Kingdom Hearts, since we already know that logic. xD

(I seriously thought he was talking about score as in 'points' kind of score. lol)

Kingdom hearts series

the last of us

AC2

ACIV:BF

Infamous 2 and Second Son

those are just some off of the top of my head

Ace Combat series.

Like srsly, that series gives Final Fantasy a run for its money sometimes o.O
