I just found this out guys. I don't really know how this will be seen on the media.

This fits right in with the current media. Every time someone commits a crime, people look for excuses and things to blame. Now even the criminals are trying to "justify" their acts by claiming absurd things like "it's part of my religion/beliefs" or "video gaymez duh". Of course mainstream news is going to make this even worse and continue claiming that video games are bad.

The person could've just been pyscopath. The media always tries to find an excuse for a murderer.
