Of course, it is evident the traitor will be revealed in Back Cover as Nomura confirmed, now here is something i don't understand.

There were 6 apprentices, 5 became Foretellers and the traitor is A FORETELLER. So the 6th is not a foreteller, in fact here is a plausible idea

The 6th becomes salty he didn't become a Foreteller so he decides to ruin the Foretellers gig by disguising himself and tricking them into thinking one of them is a traitor.

Before you say 'THAT COAT DIDN'T EXIST UNTIL THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED'

This seems plausible, I don't think any of the Foretellers would betray each other and it would make sense. This allowed the 6th foreteller to get up to some dastardly deeds and this trickery caused the keyblade war.

What do you guys think?

You basically summed up a theory of mine! I have thought that the person in the black coat in KHX is the sixth apprentice who is the traitor. He is left out of the group when the grandmaster gives them the Book of Prophecies. He turns sour because of it and causes the darkness to act more aggressively. The keyblade Master Xehanort has is the keyblade the sixth apprentice possessed. I give you two thumbs up for quoting my theory!

Yay :D

I don't mean to brag, but this is bound to happen. For the moment, it's the most logical theory and makes sense. It probably won't though because it seems too easy to figure out, the real solution could be much more complex, this is KH of course.

Exactly. I saw this coming for months. By the way, Nomura has said the traitor will stick out. I believe it's quite obvious who that is and why.

I don't think it's really that obvious. The Sixth Foreteller does not have the Book of Prophecies, therefore, he doesn't really have any influence over the other Foretellers decisions as he cannot foresight like the rest of the Foreteller. Here's an idea that I have that will blow peoples minds...

The Master of Masters wants to start the Keyblade War, and in order to do so, he takes six students under his wing. Once he comes to realise that one of his students are starting to see through his facade, he prevents that particular student from becoming a Foreteller to ensure his plan of starting the Keyblade War maintains. To cause friction and eventually start the Keyblade War, he states that there is a traitor among the group. The real reason as to why the Master Foreteller is highlighting the traitor is because he's come to realise that a Foreteller has also understood the Master Foretellers purpose of forming the "Unions". To clash light and darkness.

I don't see into that at all I'm afraid. It is pretty obvious since it's cliché.

If it's so cliche then why keep the "Sixth Foreteller" a mystery at all to begin with?

  • 2 months later...

That would be interesting... But I have an idea that the sixth apprentice is actually the traitor (It may have some aspects from one of my fanfiction, but please hear me out). I mean, think about it: this "Master of Masters" they mentioned has an "eye" that allowed him to "see the future", and he may have saw a vision of his sixth apprentice causing a horrendous battle we all know as the "Keyblade War" by having his fellow apprentices turn against each other. With that vision, he wrote down the warning within the five copies of the Book of Prophecies and gave each copy to the Foretellers. He even took the sixth apprentice's Keyblade and hid it away in a world that will evenutally be known as the "Land of Departure" where, from one generation to another, Keyblade Masters watched over (originally the Keyblade of the Sixth Apprentice, but that reason/purpose was lost/forgotten as time passes: much like how the story of the Keyblade War faded away into legends) to prevent the history of the Keyblade War from repeating itself due to the vision regarding the Sixth Apprentice coming true. Which explains why Eraqus' reaction and this following quote "There is a reason the precepts bar us from such knowledge." in this cutscene:

(Courtesy of Everglow and KH13)

As for Eraqus and Xehanort's Master, he/she may have been a Keyblade Master who watched over the Land of Departure without even knowing the world's original purpose. And Xehanort took the Keyblade due to sensing a connection/feeling that the Keyblade is his destiny when he looked up at that Keyblade during the KHIII trailer (Due to the reason that Xehanort is the reincarnation direct descendant of the Sixth Apprentice (if you consider the following theory from HMK:

))

So what do you think?

  • 2 weeks later...

They'll betray each other and it'll be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I like the idea that the sixth apprentice causes anxiety to the point that all the foretellers end up cutting off ties with each other and inadvertently all betray themselves.

I'm down for anything though.
