KHInsider has a translated summary of the event from Famitsu, and one of the things Nomura said was:

“We were working on the worlds you can go to however I can’t show you the world yet since it’s still in development. I can not show you a new world today but instead I will show something in the middle of production.”

 

I know this game still has (roughly) 2 years left to be worked on, but it's kind of worrying that they don't have enough of any other world to show off. They were also able to announce Big Hero 6 at D23 California, but didn't show any footage of it, so what gives? Could they not just do the same thing and say the name of the movie?

 

Idk, I think the E3 trailer just gave off a false impression of how far along the game actually is, which is sad.

Nomura stated around E3 that they had just finished finalizing the worlds and that they had just finished the core mechanics and it was all about mass producing them right now.  The game is a lot farther than we thought it was.  I stated back at E3 that the worlds right now are like having the bare bones of a bunch of buildings done and now all they are doing is decorating and painting them.  By next E3 or TGS there will be plenty to show and the game to our eyes will probably look complete; plus if they are aiming for a Q2 or Q3 2017 release like many of us suspect, that is plenty of time for the game to be finished.

 

You also have to take into account that they are also working on 2.8 which requires them to build the Realm of Darkness and possibly Daybreak Town.

 

Not to mention that there is a possibility of there being 5 worlds completed: Kingdom of Corona, Mount Olympus, Twilight Town, Mysterious Tower, & Cable Town/Land of Departure.

 

I would say they are doing a bang up job for how much they have on their plates.

Well this means Pixar to be in KH3 and probably also Toy Story since it is now known in KH.

So it is great news.

I suppose they want to place 2.8 on the Forefront for the time being and then reveal all the major worlds for Kingdom Hearts 3 once Kingdom Hearts 3 is the final game left for them to do.
