PEGI has once again leaked another Final Fantasy port to Windows PC. This time Final Fantasy VI. Of course this one was seen a mile away. The port will of course be based off the Android version.

Shame really. Final Fantasy VI shouldn't be experienced in its Android/iOS port. The sprite work is shambolic.

 

And I actually bought Final Fantasy V on Steam.

Let's not forget the unmissable glitch that prevented progress, and the horrible typos that they didn't fix until a month later. The mobile port is absolute trash, people should just stick to the SNES or GBA versions.

They fixed them. How are they absolute trash? The graphics suck, oh well. How many games have terrible graphics? A lot, doesn't mean they're bad games.

 

And SNES and GBA? Yeah, let's stick to a console over 20 years old and a handheld over 10 years old.

Hey now don't blindly hate on the SNES and GBA versions just because they are on old systems. They are arguably the best place to play the game. Even the PSOne version gets a pass too.

 

Also thanks to emulation you can easily play better versions of the game elsewhere. I played through the GBA version on both my phone and PC, didn't make my experience of the game any worse and I've since bought the PlayStation version.

 

Sure a mobile version was released and some people don't mind the changes, but it isn't any mystery that Final Fantasy VI was widely criticised by fans because of it's awful sprites, poor performance and bugs. They can fix them all they want and you can say "deal with it", but it is a poor port of easily one of the greatest games in the series and there is no hiding that. Just because something is new doesn't mean it is better.

It's not a poor port when the bugs and performance issues are fixed. Otherwise you're calling The Last of Us on PS4 a poor port, it's update log is gigantic.

And yet, there's still no 3D Remake for the 3DS!  I'm pretty sure a lot of people have stated that they want to see a remake of VI!  IV was remade for the DS, and it sold well, and it was amazing!  I wish they could do the same for VI, but given that they have a lot on their plate, I can understand.  But still, I want to play this game so badly! I've heard so many things about this game being the best FF out there, and that Kefka actually meets his goal of destroying the world!  THAT'S SOMETHING I WANT TO SEE! (And no, I don't know how it happens, so don't spoil me!)

Hopefully but that won't be for awhile. Kitase is busy with VII Remake and maybe X-3 while Ito is busy with most likely with XVI & XII HD.

Yep, that's a lot of high profile games to be working on, so VI Remake won't see the light of day anytime soon!  Also, I'm curious about XII HD. I've wanted to play XII, and since I've heard there's a possible HD Remaster of it, I'm waiting out for that to happen!  Do you think it'd release on the PS4?
