Do you think nintendo will ever remaster super mario sunshine?

Posted

keep in mind that I'm NOT begging for this to happen. I'm also NOT complaining about why Nintendo should remaster super mario sunshine even though it is my favorite mario game and favorite video game of all time.

the fans have been asking for it for a while and Nintendo hasn't done a thing about it. This may be a good thing because there haven't been many 3d mario games lately besides spinoffs. They need to work on more 3d mario games anyways. They did release super mario maker, but I don't really like the 2d mario games.

How about a sequel instead? I mean, I don't know about you, but I'm tired of all these ports/remasters that these companies are doing in this generation of gaming. I want something new, personally.

i agree with you. I sequel would be better

I dunno. I just want something 3D and fresh in the future. I honestly don't want another Galaxy, but a sequel to Sunshine would be nice.

It's a GameCube game. A port will be enough, as the graphics aren't that bad compared to today's standards, so it doesn't need to be remastered. Like Tails said, a sequel would be good enough. Especially since, as far as I'm aware, there isn't a star-collection Mario game on current gen Nintendo, which is disappointing.

I see your point, but the wind waker is a gamecube game and it got remastered, but I guess a port would be fine. The game is already graphically impressive enough. and it does suck that nintendo didn't make a star collection game on the wii u.

The Wind Waker possibly had more demand. It also sold heaps more. According to what I found, Wind Waker sold 75 million copies, while Super Mario Sunshine sold 5.5 million. So HD Wind Waker made more sense than HD Super Mario Sunshine.

Super Mario Sunshine didn't sell THAT well? I guess this could mean that Super Mario Sunshine could be the first gamecube game to get on the wii u virtual console.

Maybe. We don't know yet. If GameCube Virtual Console even becomes a thing.

For the record, Nintendo only remastered LoZ Wind Waker  to experiement different art styles for Legend of Zelda U (placeholder title). And HD Rmastereds for Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess were also tested as well during their planning stages for Zelda U. But the development team considered Wind Waker's visuals to be the most improved. Thus, the reason why Zelda U's artstyle is very similiar to Wind Waker's.

Just a little fact I thought I should mention :P.

Honestly, I'm surprised Nintendo still hasn't even done NGC virtual console yet. You'd think they would do so by now since GameCube games are pretty rare nowadays.

I somewhat doubt that they will remake it.  I don't think I've seen many actual Mario remakes, excepting maybe Super Mario 3D Land, Bros, and World, and even then they were drastically different from their 2D GB and SNES counterparts that you could hardly consider them remakes.  Personally I would prefer to see new Mario games as opposed to remakes or ports, but I would take anything, really. : )

Oh okay, I didn't know about the Legend of Zelda HD remasters being related to the development of Legend of Zelda U.In regards to Virtual Console, Nintendo hasn't done a lot of things that would normally make sense in that regard. We don't even have DS Virtual Console on 3DS and that would make more sense than being on Wii U. There are other things as well, like the Mother series not being on 3DS. I understand they are trying to give people reasons to buy a Wii U, but games aren't the only factor that affect sales.

Honestly I don't really want a remake because I have the original. It's in my top 5 games of all time easily and I love the graphics. The gamecube has the best controller ever imo and this all together with the awesome mechanics and stages make this game amazing. Even if they do come out with a remake, I'd just make a friend play the original instead of the remake.

The only thing that could happen for me to really want them to remake the game would be to let the gamecube adapter for Smash 4 work on it. Ik there's a classic controller that looks like a gamecube controller but it feels a lot different

I don't know if Nintendo will remake Sunshine, but they'd need to make some major changes and add a lot of extra content like Super Mario 64 DS for me to buy a remake of Sunshine
