I've been told by a person(nobody on here by the way) that I'm missing out on some things if I don't want anything challenging in a video game especially in rpgs and and action adventure games. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE challenge, but not the first of the second time around. I'd rather not have challenge the first time around because sometimes developers can overdo it  and make bosses that suppost to be kinda easy, hard on normal mode. A great example of this is Young Xehanort from DDD. It's hard on normal mode AND critical mode. Another game that is hard the first time around is A Link to the Past. I had trouble trying to beat the game, though I ended up beating it eventually.

All games are challenging, one way or another. I said this before elsewhere, but I personally found Young Xehanort to be easy on Proud Mode, but I'm struggling on Critical. I wouldn't say your missing out on anything, unless you're deliberately avoiding games because of their genre.

The only thing you're missing is the satisfying feeling of defeating a hard boss or overcoming a hard challenge. And imo, if you do it the first time, the second it's easier and so on, atleast for me.

Back in the day I used to play KH1 and KH2 only on Standard and Beginner respectively. Then I just ran them both on Proud and I liked it so much more. But maybe that's just me.

I plan to play KH3 on its highest difficulty first time around. If anything, I'll get much more out of it that way.

I thought that was the point for hard mode in video games, NOT in normal mode where people don't want much challenge. When kingdom hearts 3 comes out , I'm going to put it on normal mode so that I won't be VERY frustrated with the game when I first play it. After I play the game normally a few times, I might put it on critical mode.

Well it depends on your personal preference of course,if overcoming a challenging part in a video game is not satisfying to you and you'd rather progress though the story as fast as you can then you are not missing anything.Personally I love challenge in games,if a game is too easy then it can become boring.New Super Mario Bros Wii and U are the perfect exemples to me of games that are ruined because of how easy they are,but too much challenge can ruin a game too,I'm currently playing Mega Man Zero on GBA and that game is BRUTAL,classic Mega Man is easy compare to Mega Man Zero and its ruining the fun for me,it was the first time ever that I wish a game had an easy mode.I'll probably have to look up a guide to beat this game but that's not fun

You don't really miss anything: I freely admit to never once going past beginner or easy on a KH game. The closet I came to "hard" was doing Normal on BBS.

The only thing you miss is secret videos (That you can find on youtube easily) or long-a$$ battles.

In my opinion, completing the game, and seeing the end is rewarding enough, no matter what level you were on.

dude don't even worry about it. personally whenever i start a totally new game or even a new KH game, i often always play on the Normal difficulty mode because i'd rather get familiar with the gameplay mechanics and learn them first. once i do that, then i'd consider a harder playthrough. there's nothing wrong with taking a normal or easy route in a game. games don't always have to be super challenging. sometimes the satisfaction can come simply from playing the game itself.
